I'm using OpenDNS to filter the porn content and the online proxy servers on all of my networks.

You just need to change your DNS ip on all your Network Interfaces (To mobile phone, Wifi settings) to the OpenDNS DNS server adresses.

 

I use Covenant Eyes. Works pretty well though it's been a long time since I "tested" it.

 

Qustodio is a good one.

 

Thanks for the info OP. Pretty disappointing news. I've been using K9 as my primary filter for a couple years now. It was free, lightweight, easy to config, and worked across multiple browsers at the network level.

The company that bought them out has now scuttled the program and is trying to nudge old users into their commercial software which is overkill for what many of us need in my opinion. Oh well it was good while it lasted. Will look into other options posted here.

 

Kaspersky safe kids is not bad. it has a very powerful filter.

 

I've tried different software(net nanny, covenant eyes, cold turkey etc.) and unfortunately nothing comapres to K9. It was free but I would even pay for it. It was just too good. Unfortunately other blocking software either block too much or doesn't block enough, some of them doesn't even allow you to block specific sites.

 

I believe to truly recover one needs to "conquer" himself. Building a wall between your addictive compulsive behavior and porn helps you abstain but abstention does not equal recovery. It's a great tool for first few months when you're still learning to control urges, but you need to let it go, after that period. Self control is the best filter you can "install" and the only way to go, if you want to reach full recovery at some point in time. I believe in Plato's words: "For a man to conquer himself is the first and noblest of all victories."
