    Hello,

my name is Simon, I'm from Germany, I'm 21 years old. My story in a few words:

I was confronted with pornography at a young age 11-12. From 12-17 I was very addicted and sometimes consumed it several times a week. At the age of 17 the Lord Jesus saved me and my struggle with pornography intensified from then on. Since then, I have had many failed attempts to leave this filth behind me once and for all. I very often made it 1.5 months, then I fell and did PMO. Last year I met a young woman (Christian), but unfortunately it didn't work out between us. During this time, I was PMO-free for about 150 days. This year I had a period of 100 and 140 days free from pornography. Unfortunately, I have been PMO many times in the last few days. I am devastated that I have despised God so much. My heart feels cold and hardened towards God. I want to take up my cross and die to self, I want to glorify Christ in my life, I feel trapped in this self-destructive behavior. The worst thing is that it's all my own fault, it's all my fault. Lord forgive me, please don't take my life now so that I can still overcome this sin in this life to bring glory to your name. I would be very grateful for any advice on how to move forward now.

  2. Hi, @Simonsavedbygrace, and welcome to the forum.

What you need to do is have faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sin, confess it to him, and ask for his forgiveness, and you will be forgiven your sin.

Our sin grieves God, there's no doubt about it. And we need to strive against our sin and seek to put our lust and porn addictions to death. But being lust-free (impossible!) or porn free (possible!) doesn't change a Christian's status with the Father. The Son, Jesus, is the only one who makes us right with God. Our obedience does nothing to contribute to our justification.

I recommend heading over to the "Christianity" group forum because there is a lot more participation there, and plenty of Protestants (you should know that Roman Catholics participate there, too). Make a post there about your situation and brothers and sisters will respond and seek to help you. This Protestant group on the forum is inactive. You're also welcome to send me a private message if you want.
