I’m only going into day four, but reading through posts, it’s clear that I need an education.... I have absolutely no idea what the abbreviations stand for with maybe the exception of PMO? Porn Masturbation Orgasm (I think)? Also, there are terms like “nightfall”?

so, is there a thread that has the info I need? I’d also like to know what to expect...physiologically etc.

I know it’s a lot, but info is power

    thanks!

    PMO - porn/masturbation/orgasm
nightfall - probably referring to wet dreams (not sure about that)
monk mode - abstaining from any sexually related activity (namely no porn/masturbation/orgasm/sex)
hard mode - no porn/masturbation/orgasm OR no porn/masturbation/orgasm/sex (people tend to interpret this in two different ways)
normal mode - abstaining only from porn but still continue with masturbation/orgasm/sex

What to expect physiologically... IF you're addicted to PMO you'll most probably go through acute withdrawal symptoms in the first month or two of abstention (cravings, flu like symptoms, joint pain, headaches, insomnia) likely to be followed by post acute withdrawal symptoms (mood swings, depression, anxiety, fatigue, brain fog...) Not all of the mentioned symptoms but probably some of them. There is usually underlying psych issue(s) that led you to PMO addiction. You need to identify it and address it over time. Think of PMO as our drug of choice. It's just a tool to self-medicate negative emotions, stress ect. originating from underlying issue(s), that's why the root problem needs to be addressed to break addiction cycle.
