Is this anxiety?

    Hey,

For many months now, I have been feeling very dizzy, very spaced out and very tired. No matter if I get lots or little sleep, the effects don't change. I can't focus on anything in my surroundings, and lose concentration very easily. I recognized this beginning to happen Autumn last year. It's like super heavy brain fog.

I feel like it's ruined my life because I can't enjoy anything, I can't focus on anything and so if I am doing something I enjoy (such as spending the day in London) there is no way I can enjoy it because I just can't take anything in and I feel is spaced out that I can't focus on what I'm doing.

I'm scared that it is anxiety, mainly because I have read online forums and people with the same problem have taken medication and many other ways to fight it but nothing has worked for them. What if I'm the same? Am I expected just to live a horrible, dark, closed in life with no enjoyment just because of this 'fuzziness'? If so I don't know how to handle it. I want to enjoy things in life but I can't, and it looks like I never will.

I don't want to take medication because I know exactly what will happen: I will take medication, it won't work or will make the problem worse, and then I will become dependent on them and eventually I'll just be taking a load of pointless pills and medicines and that is definitely not something that I want.

I don't want life to be this way :(

Alternatively, part of me thinks that this might actually be an effect of masturbation. I have felt much better and happier when I get a decent NoFap streak.

Advice anyone? (Advice on what it could be I mean. I am aware that I should see a doctor).

Also, I haven't been diagnosed with anxiety, depression or anything like that before. I have also had recent blood tests and found that I had a vitamin D and Iron deficiency, but after taking months of medication the effects didn't change at all.

Dude, I see from your profile you are 16 right.. ? At that age your body goes through loads of changes that can cause dizziness/tiredness. Also your moods can go a bit mad. Excessive masturbation can DEFINITELY make you feel down.. So try and get on a good NoFap streak again.

I don't know shit about this stuff but I have heard of CFS ( which you might have if you feel really really tired all the time ), take a look at this link:

If you fap multiple times a day, that induces serious brain fog which can be mistaken for depression/anxiety. Its the worse feeling in the world.

A lot of people felt the same way, I didn't even know I felt that way because I got used to it. Do a complete reboot first. In the mean time, learn about psychology so that you can learn about yourself. I can't tell how useful it is to have basic understanding of human psyche.

    Hey,

Yeah I never fap more than once a day, but whether fapping every two or so days has the same effect I'm not sure. I never fap more than 2 days in a row.

    Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I have been meaning to look further into the workings of the min din terms of pornography and masturbation addiction. I think it will give me a real insight into why I'm experiencing the problems that I'm experiencing.

    Thanks

  8. That doesn't sound like anxiety to me. Anxiety is almost the opposite end of the spectrum, rather than dizzy, brain-fog, etc, anxiety is more being hyper-alert to the point of being excessively worried about the most minute things.

At your age as others have said your brain and body are undergoing large changes, so it's quite normal to feel things like this. Strange emotions, trouble concentrating, sadness, anger, etc can all arise very easily during your teen years for very little reason. That said, PMO certainly causes brain fog in a major way, so try to abstain and you may find the brain fog dissipating (you'll need to stay off for some time though - at least a couple of weeks before you really notice that effect imo)

Edit: I missed the note at the bottom at first. Iron deficiency will cause all the things you mentioned in your post. You need to start taking an iron supplement and trying to get more iron in your diet. Not just for a week or two either, but long term. Take iron with vitamin C as it'll help your body absorb the iron.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the advice! I have started taking my iron pills once again. I'm also going up to London in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to try and abstain from PMO until then, but I'll take it one day at a time.

Hopefully I will see some changes in how I feel in a month or so.

    Cheers!
