It Depends On How Long

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Sep 1, 2018.

  1. As far as I'm aware 2 years is quoted for substance abuse recovery such as benzos (gaba receptors) and hard drugs (dopamine and opiate receptors)

It applies to many addictions from sex addiction (closest to our category) to gambling addiction. Where I read this, well the link I read it has been updated and i cant find that part specifically. Maybe its because they want you to buy their book. Damn Ill post the link anyway...https://www.addictionsandrecovery.org/post-acute-withdrawal.htm
The guy who supposedly runs the site is a legit person in the field.

  3. Thanks, yeah I reckon it can take 2 years, it's the same hormone and, who knows maybe edging for hours releases just as much dopamine as hard drugs

I agree that the longer you watched porn the longer it takes to reboot, but i don't think it takes the same amount of time to rewire, i don't know where you take this idea from.
Basing my opinion on what i read on rebooting, witnesses and stories, it takes time, but not that amount, you probably reboot 50\70% in the firs year, and more on the second year, with a porn addiction of 15\20 years.

I don't know if that's really true, i hope i will find out.

    Very useful.

Unbelievable how porn addiction gives you the same withdrawals as strong drugs, and for the same amount of time.

Probably, right now, we live in a world of porn addicts...
