My Addiction

Hello everyone, my name is Devin.
I am a 20 year old college student out of Virginia, and that is all I really want to disclose, because I am very ashamed of what I will type next. I have come here probably for the same reason as most, to cure my porn addiction. I have been addicted for as long as I can remember. I was first introduced to porn at a very young age, probably around 7 or 8 years old, when I came across it on the family desktop. After that I was hooked for life. I spent the next 12 years of my life not missing a day of watching porn, unless it was impossible to do so. As I got older I thought that the problem was just going to wear off. I thought it was normal for kids to enjoy porn, because all of my friends, girl or boy, watched it too. But as time went on, it became worse and worse. Sometimes I would be "Fapping" 3-5 times a day.
I think it eventually caught up to me these past few years as I have been feeling more social anxiety, depression, and energy loss. I thought at first that all these traits were just normal for my age or maybe there was some underlying problem. However, when I started watching stories of people on Youtube that have quit porn, and reported all the same traits I had, and said they were gone, I then knew that was the problem, it had to be. I have tried in the past couple of months to quit, but I haven't been very lucky. The longest I made it was about 4 days, then I started again with an even stronger urge. But I want to keep trying. I am more seduced by the great benefits of quitting that are told in these stories then the short term high I get from watching porn. I come here to hopefully find help for my addiction, and finally quit.
