Hi. I am a new member on this forum and I have decided to make and regularly check this forum until I am where I want to be, which is to be porn free and have no problems with ED. I found out about NoFap about three years ago and have been trying to abstain for that time, but I have continuously failed to rid of this burden from my life. I know that I have made much progress from the time that have successfully abstained. I have become a much more confident person and I have a lot more energy than I have had in the past, but I still feel that I am not where I want to be just yet and I find that I do struggle at times. That is why I want to become more involved in this community to receive support and give it to those that need it as well.
Anyways, I have finally decided to post because I have relapsed today and I feel awful. I feel as though I have let myself down, as well as my girlfriend, who doesn't know about my relapses. I never planned on telling her about any of this until our sex life became a problem due to my ED. It has improved drastically, but I find that I get much harder to porn than I due with actual sex, which shouldn't be the case. I also have an idea that my hypothyroidism is caused by this porn addiction, which I would really like to reverse. Anyways, I plan on getting right back to abstaining and I am going to hit the ground running by utilizing this forum. Thank you guys and good luck to you all!!

Good luck! Best tips to avoiding a relapse that I have personally found helpful:

    - STAY BUSY!! Most important one. As long as you stay busy, urges and sexual thoughts should stay at bay, and it will make NoFap so much easier!

    - Push away/stop sexual thoughts as soon as you notice thinking them to make sure you don't fantasize.

    - Don't beat yourself up if you fail. Remember, this is a journey, not a race. No pain no gain!

I really do wish you the best of luck my friend :)
