    Hello everyone,

My name is Joey, 27 yrs old, a male Chinese working for IoT industry as a project manager. And I would like to record my experience of quitting porn and share my stories to others who may need this.

I only knew the phrase of pornography addiction two weeks ago by reading a article online published by Time magazine and I ran into a you-may-like kind of article which was talking about porn addiction published in 2016. It is kind of long article which I didn't finish it at first but I read it through the second time. And that's how I started to learn about the whole things about porn addiction, watching videos from one of the similar website like NoFap, then watching more videos on YouTube, learning about the Dopamine and reading people's posts for almost two days.

I also tested myself whether I can get a boner without porn or not (Cuz what others described about their experience, like consistently childhood-porn-watching&Fap, losing interest for normal porn, searching for extreme porn and can't erect with a real partner make me feel like they are talking about me literally.) Anyway after I passed the test for masturbating without porn, I gained some confidence from nowhere and started to try to talk to my friends about dopamine, like how it works and what kind of lab experience had conducted. The more times I talked with more friends, the more searching I did for craving more knowledge for dopamine.

    and finally,

I have not watched porn for the whole two weeks and still have no desire for it.I guess partly it is because when you know how dopamine works with your body and mind, you kind of lost desire for it. Even when I saw some erotic pics unexpectedly, my mind is processing it differently, it's like sending you a signal 'PLS BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING' and you can actually sense some chemical stuff created in you mind which make you wanna relapse, and I think that is dopamine or whatever it is.

That's all for the first post of my story and I will continue to do it every two weeks. So if any of it make you a little more interest, please let me know and I will be very glad, cuz it means something. If it's not, I will certainly write things down that keep me going.
