The mystery of wet dreams - Do they delay healing ?

Hi guys.

I had a wet dream at 11:00 am on Wednesday.

My symptoms got worse. My perception has worsened. The world was not as "vivid" anymore. The colors were not clear. This is what I am trying to say.

12 hours later, that is at 23:00, I suddenly experienced a "switch". The symptoms were reduced. My perception changed and the colors became clearer. It got better, but I still have not recovered from this wet dream.

On Thursday, the symptoms got a little better again, but I was still not recovered from the wet dream.

Friday morning it got a little better again, but I still haven't recovered from that wet dream.

Then on Friday at 6:00 pm I was outside and I experienced the "switch". Suddenly all the colors are "normal" again. The world is more vivid again. My perception is "normal" again, as usual. So it took me a total of 55 hours to recover from a wet dream.

I am still in flatline/PAWS (post acute withdrawal symptoms). I just wanted to show you that it took 55 hours to get my standard perception.

There are people who have also experienced this "switch" and then suddenly were completely healed. They were completely out of the flatline. I have only spoken of wet dreams here.

I don't understand the science behind it. Can anyone explain this ? Do wet dreams delay healing ?

I am at month 42 and still in the flatline. No relapse and hardmode. I will publish an update by end of June.

Thx and greetings ;)

I apologize if this is ignorant to your journey, I am new and do not know you or anything about your journey, but my first thought is that if you are 3.5 years into nofap and still experiencing such profound symptoms there is likely something else going on. As an example, I have a buddy who is extremely sensitive to dopamine fluctuations. Subsequently, if he has a cup of coffee he is messed up for like a month. This is just how he is and it's gotten worse as he gets older. It's actually quite a common experience for some people to feel some depression after an orgasm.

Shit, is that your first wet dream? If so might a be a good sign.

In general I would say the dreams, including wet dreams, can be seen as healing. A way of your unconscious being able to let go of past trauma and events etc. So I wouldnt look at it as a bad thing.

Though the symptoms you describe do sound quite acute. Have you spoken to a professional, counsellor or doctor etc?

This is a very polarizing subject here. Most people think wet dreams are harmless but there's a fringe group that believes they can be damaging and does everything they can to avoid them. My personal opinion is that the symptoms you're experiencing are psychosomatic, probably caused by feelings of shame related to your wet dream.

If you don´t eat you will eventually dream of food.

I see the absence of wet dreams as a bad sign. Reproduction is our biological imperative, if we are doing nofap and don´t have wet dreams, something is not right. ( brain reward system )

By average, i have 1 or 2 wet dreams each month. I don´t feel worse after one.
