yikes - this could launch a firestorm!!!! LOADS of guys are resentful about this - they feel feminism has robbed them of the ability to hold open a door, or pay for a date out of genuine chivalry. and being critical of feminism automatically = misogynist in the minds of some. loads of guys hate that too. guessing you're going to get a lot of responses to this!!!
You're right on the romantic gesture part. Although I will say I have been lucky , well very lucky up until recently. Chivalry seems dead, or at least that's what the past 5 years have felt like.
Omg Yes! I was just saying this yesterday how I always associated sex with love. Because really it should be! And same I got my self worth from it as well. That's the closest you can possibly be to someone and I always craved that closeness and love. And I've always been in love with the idea of being in love as well. My ex used to always tell "this isn't a fairy tale" but I always wanted my fairy tale and still do very much so! I think a relationship can be anything you want it to..anything you make it!
And you know he was into you, because back then, mixtapes took effort. You couldn't just click and drag together an iTunes playlist. You had to be meticulous about that crap, pressing the record and play buttons at just the right time, having to listen to every song AS it recorded ... kids these days have no idea. But yes, that song is utterly timeless.
Yes. The mixtape. The true symbol of "I am into you. Could be flirty, romantic, sexy or straight up "I'm hot for you." A lost art form the mixtape. For any you flings, please the movie High Fidelity.
I know I listened to it today after posting here and instant flashback to more innocent times....well not that much more innocent but rather more personal and connecting. Now BoyzIIMen are humming in my head .....long for yesterdaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy.
OMG... When me and Rock Star got together I got a mixtape. And it took me a minute... To realize... It was him singing On the Tape. I absolutely about swooned over. Singing songs like My Girl and Banana Pancakes. Seriously. I'll never forget it. I shared with a friend and she actually cried. It was probably the sweetest thing ever at that point in my life. What has happened to all the men? Tsk. Honestly.... Even rebooting ... I don't think he'd think of something like that now. I bet it'll take a few years to get that part of his brain working again.
And I don't mean @SuperFan & @DemonSemen and you guys... I mean the new generation of guys out there who aren't going to have a original bone in their bodies who will even try not once to make a single girl feel special. It's sad
That song was a juggernaut. And of course in my town, everyone had to come out of the woodwork screaming "IT WAS A COUNTRY SONG FIRST!!!"
No sadly the attitude is the girl should feel special to breathe the same air as them though I guess it goes both ways. Yes and I can love you like that. Anyone remember Shai and Comforter ?
I'm not kidding you ... I can recite those lyrics by heart this very second. When you're in pain, I'm in pain ... that's part of beeeeeeeing a friend ...
