Hello, I've been with this for 12 days, and just today a friend sent me a porn video, I'm not going to lie, the conversation got hot, and I was the one who asked for the video, I didn't masturbate, and I watched it only once, he The video was just of her touching her boobs, do I have to start from scratch?
I'm not sure if I get the title or if I understand what happened . . . Am I correct in my interpretation that a female friend (and/or a potential love interest) sent you a video of her touching her boobs? You looked at it once and did not masturbate? To me it sounds like you are doing great. Not masturbating and watching the video only once shows a lot of self restraint (unless the video just didn't do that much for you). I would not call that a relapse for most people on this site. It sounds like you had a real world experience, which is way different than the very fake world of porn. I think you are doing well. Focus on what you are doing right. And maybe start a day counter? That way people responding to your posts will know what your NoFap goals are. I'm guessing that your goals are no porn and no masturbation. If you are going for hard mode (no P, M or O), then what you did was not ideal, but I still would not count it as a slip. Did you delete the video???
Thank u for ask, im new in this forum, idk how to active the day counter, and yes i delete the video, it was more easy for me, because, its not the first time, the other time I started with nofap, hold 30 days, but have no idea that this forum existed, thank u again.
No problem. Look in the toolbar up top and click where it says "Update Day Counter" . . . you'll be able to figure it out from there. And good job deleting that video.
Define your goals more clearly and your question will answer itself. You are accountable to your actions, not an internet forum.
As long as you can sincerely say that you have no intention which conflict with your goals then it's alright but don't. DON'T! Do such thing again. You are here because walking at the edge made you fall into an addiction. Don't do the same mistake again. You are just getting up... don't fall again.
Here's another one then- >you asked for the video >you knew it was porn >there's no variation of nofap without P in it >you broke the streak >back to 0
Depends on the nature of the relationship for me. Porn is impersonal. A sexy vid or pic from a partner isn't porn. Now, partner doesn't extend to someone you'd chat with on kik or Skype or whatever else, I'm meaning a real relationship. I agree with some others here, define your own goals and don't get hung up on "does the forum accept this?". It's your life you're taking back control of, don't give it up to a forum either.
I would call this a setback, not a relapse...based on the NoFap article "What is a relapse for a recovering porn addict?" Depends on your personal goals. Since you deleted it, it's just a setback. Don't take the days too seriously. Only base it on progress. For example, if you haven't looked at anything like that in months, then it won't do much (only one vid). Just don't go back. And, since you sound worried, why did you ask for the video in the first place? That could lead to even more porn and then it would take a while longer to rewire your brain to a healthy level (months or years depending on how far you've gone). Regardless, it's about progress and your own goals and criteria for a relapse. And tell your girlfriend not to send you porn, just to show you her "in person." Ha!
No, I don't think it would count as a relapse. It doesn't seem as if it was a very long video, and you only watched it once. So, you didn't watch the video for a sustained period of time, and because of that, it's not considered to be a relapse under the NoFap rules. https://nofap.com/faq/what-is-a-porn-addiction-relapse/
