Thank you very much and congratulations to you too. 16 months is a very high number.

I had your text translated. You apparently had my text translated too, but why don't you answer in English? ;)

    Thanks man.

I spend most of my time outside in the city. I watch people walking, eating, talking, laughing. I walk 1 hour per day in the city. I'm not doing anything productive. I have no motivation at all to do anything productive. I just hang out in the city. That's it.

When I published this 36 months post, it was winter. I was therefore mostly at home. Now the sun shines more and more often and that's why I'm mostly outside.

In case you haven't read this: https://forum.nofap.com/index.php?threads/anhedonia-my-experience-will-it-ever-go-away.346153/

Can you tell me something about your PMO past and PAWS in summary ? Please easy as I have brain fog xD

Not true. Porn really messes with the brain for some of us and it takes a really long time to recover.

The only thing that will progress recovery is abstinence from porn and masturbation. Everything else you wrote doesn't have anything to do with it.

While I agree that porn really messes up with the brain for some/most of us, people really should take action and get a job or go back to school once the anhedonia and PAWS symptoms get lighter the longer you go on a streak. I'm not saying it'll completely solve the issue, but it's important to self-care and be pro-active in life when you can and are able to.

Also, it'll help with implementing habits in your life so you don't relapse.

  6. You'll heal just give yourself more time and start making a workout or jogging routine after a while and also a Meditation Routine!

You asked about my PMO Addiction, right ? Here is my timeline:

2009: First time watching Porn with some school friends in a Cyber Café - didn't PMO to it
2010: Getting shocked to PMO and start having Quick Sessions once in a while.
2011: Using Imagination from Porn to Masterbate to it I was 17 than - even going to the Cyber Café to watch it than Madterbate to it night, almost evrey night. ( My school grade went bad ever since -, bad brain fog! I couldn't understand a thing! )
2012: Watching a certain Tube site and other Tube sites!
2013: I got hit - I did PMO almost everyday but just quick sessions as always.
2014: I started downloading that on my Phone!
2015: Still an Addict to PMO ( Quick sessions! )
2016: Quick Session on the addiction
2017: Quick Session on the Addiction
2018: I've learnt about edging and I took on weeks and weeks watching in that my room and trying to compare myself to Male P. Actors - somehow I started having the mindset of becoming a P Producer myself... Silly me!
I went too far to get numbers of these companies and contact them and the actress! I had thoughts of Penis Enlargement Crap -__-'
I knew that if I wanted to succeed in this field, I believe in Game Theory, And I know that if you want to achieve something you need to focus on that and work hard for it, If yoj apply the principles of success try to successed in this field you will, I also knew that if I want to succeed in this field I needed to have a network of Porn People and certain belief and mindset and daily workout ( Physical and Penis Enlargement... ) ~ This is the worst year in my addiction probably! - I've wanted to create my own Porn -This is my Fetish!
2019: I decided to scrap all that, Because I can't go that path - I have a conservative background and I knew that's just a fantasy! I just can't although I knew that anything is possible but I still wanted to take a different path! Take on new beliefs and all related to better principles! - I pursue a Master Degree at Finance.
2020: I knew that this an Addiction and I need to stop ! First time NoFap - I went to 28 days, Second time 30 Days, I relapsed during the covid lockdown and binged, October of the same year I started NoFap!
2021: Everything went well - Until September 2021 were I relapsed after 323 ways of NoFap! I did some NoFap afterwards but it wasn't serious! 30 days here and 60 days there...
2022: Same goes by 90 days here and a relapse there, until October 2022 ( Same date of my previous streak ) I decided to pursue NoFap for good and fellow the NoFap Mouvement as a Lifestyle!
2023: Still adopting the belief of NoFap and believing in Success in life = a life without Porngraphy Consumption!

There you got it! Between 2010 -2017 - I was also a Videogame Addict and my video game addiction wad the thing I was thinking about most of the time, PMO was just quick fix, It's during 2018 were I really f*cked up! Edging for weeks or probably months and started having fetish of filming my own movies and create remakes of these movies...
My head hurts even thinking about my past, I won't go back to this sh*t! - and this was my story!

...or they can just play videogames for 18 hours a day, it doesn't matter.
If you stop PMO progress will eventually come with time no matter what you do. That's what I learned after 14 months abstinence.

    Anything else is mental masturbation.

I'm not denying that. I'm just saying that abstaining from pmo alone isn't enough. Abstaining from pmo plus being productive is gonna work. If he's gonna watch series all day long he will eventually get back to pmo.

There's a great chance because if he's watching series all day long he's bombarding his brain with dopamine rushes and soon these movies won't do enough for him anymore, they won't bring him pleasure like they used to because the brain eventually adapts to whatever situation that's in front of it. So, he'll get bored with watching series and crave pmo. Pmo isn't the only source of dopamine rush. Although it's the most potent, but there are also other things such as watching movies, playing games all day long, eating lots of sugar, junk food and so on. If you're abstaining from pmo that's great, but it also depends what you're doing all day long that's going to ultimately determine whether your reboot is going to be successful or not. Watching movies or series or whatever all day long can spike the same amount of dopamine as watching p for half an hour for example. For best results it's better to combine abstaining from pmo with other healthier activities such as running, traveling, training, studying and so on. This way recovery will be much faster and more efficient.

I don't think what you've saying is true. I've played videogames much more than watched porn and never got any withdrawals when I stopped

I agree 100% with this and the other responses that mentioned dopamine detox. I had the same exact thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. I watched a couple sports games on tv- I then came out of paws for a couple days and experienced immense pmo urges for a full week. I think it was from the numerous dopamine hits I was getting. I'm trying to craft a lifestyle of the things you mentioned: studying, reading, exercising. Have you been able to sustain this long-term? Also, what are some the differences you see if you cut the other high stimulus activities out vs not?

That is true, but wouldn't someone (or you) want other habit outlets to cement into your brain only once you start feeling the brain fog lifting and your mood starts changing, giving you signs that the neuroplasticity of the brain is changing and then you can start branching into other habits to cement further abstinence streak progress?

I don't think 18 hours of gaming a day is good for anyone, I don't care who you are. However if you're so brain fogged and feeling like shit, I get why you would do that. I would want to do nothing but game all day too. I actually do that and go to a part-time job. It's not easy, so believe me I feel your pain.

My plan is to get out more this summer as I abstain while gaming and working at once.

Ok then, play games all day long and you'll see where this is gonna get you. Playing games isn't gonna get you anywhere. But to where you are right now... At losing place.

Playing games for 18 hours a day is far worse than doing pmo for half an hour and you study or work out for other 17 hours.

Well, reading and exercising really helps and I try to do them both every day. Also, when I'm not eating sugar and don't watch tv as often and eat healthier, I start to see that I dont have such big urges. I always used to have enormous urges when I drank energy drinks, so I stopped drinking them and I feel much better now.

Many guys here don't have much knowledge about PAWS.

    1. It was winter when I published the 36 months post. At that time it was cold, rainy and snowing. I was mostly at home.

Since the sun is shining outside again, I am outside most of the time. I mostly hang out in the city. I watch people walking, eating, talking, laughing, etc. I walk around the city for about 1 hour a day. I am rarely at home.

    2. 30 minutes PMO is worse than playing video games for 24 hours or watching movies and series for 24 hours. PMO releases much much much more dopamine, serotonin and other neurotransmitters than watching movies or playing video games. I don't get withdrawal symptoms when I stop watching movies or when I stop playing video games.

Do you really think that I will relapse after 39 months of abstinence because of watching movies and series?

    3. I feel better when I'm outside in the sun instead of at home doing nothing. The length of PAWS cannot be shortened, no matter what lifestyle you have. A healthy lifestyle can make you feel 5-10% better, but it cannot shorten the length of PAWS. Many people don't seem to understand that.

    4. Everyone who has commented here should write which month they are at. I mean without porn, without masturbation, without sex and generally without conscious ejaculation. I have the feeling that some people comment here and they don't even manage to stay abstinent for 30 days. Please be honest.
