Are there any of examples where people successfully healed with a time span of that length? Or just guys claiming they’re still in PAWS after two years? If you go on benzo buddies, most people there are healed around the 1.5 year mark, and that’s having been taking 2-10mg of benzos daily for years if not decades.

I grow doubtful. Surely someone somewhere would have posted a success story if they had been fighting PAWS for ~2 years.

Care to elaborate? I’ve searched every recovery forum extensively and haven’t been able to find any successful rebooters with that length. I only ask because I’m 6 months into a reboot.

Well done for reaching 6 months. :) Yes there have been successful cases who are now symptom free.

What would you like to know about the reboot? Are you struggling with something?

Most of us on this thread are very experienced with the nofap process so you can generally get good answers here. The fact is there are some rebooters who take longer to recover, there are plenty of those stories on yourbrainonporn.com

I cannot show you the actual facts, mr. showmethepmofacts, but I can point you in the direction of an old rebooter who has gone through hell and back while having months, years of very extreme PAWS. He is living life to the fullest right now. You can find him by the name of "crawlingordie", on reddit mostly.

10 months ago he DM'd me this:

hey guys, I logged on after a very long time and i have a shitload of messages about people experiencing something similar so I send you all the same reply. sorry but I dont have much time to answer everyone.

I started nofap 2014 as you all know. I experienced the worst I could imagine, depression, suicidal thoughts, no libido etc.

So, 5 years later, I can say that my life is pretty normal now. The depression faded slowly (within 2 years) but the suicidal thoughts only vanished after I took wellbutrin (antidepressant) at the end of 2014 until mid-2015. I don't now if I'd be here if I didn't seek for help so please consider this.

I am the happy, funny self again, and tbh I feel even better then before the journey. Almost everyday is like I FUCKING LOVE IT. So there's hope, don't worry.

    status:
    - no more depression
    - no more suicidal thoughts
    - libido is normal (lower than before and that makes conversations with girls SO SO SO much easier. definitely a plus point!)
    - sex is so fucking great. and you actually get better automatically because you do what feels right with your girl, not what you know from fake porns. there were quite a few girls that told me that with me it was different, more "real". could be bullshit that they tell every guy, but I feel like there's some truth behind. but that's hard to say.
    - Ok about those "superpowers" (fuck that term): you can tell me what you want, you dont have to believe me, but HOLY SHIT girls really really really are much (!) more interested in me than when I was PMOing daily. It's crazy. It was a whole new world for me. But be realistic. It's not like you enter the club and every girl wants to fuck you. It's more a subtle effect, you can keep conversations easier, have more eye contact and all that stuff and girls somewhat feel that.

ok sorry I need to go. please feel free to write me back. :) keep it up, its worth it, and it gets better everyday.

For some reason I can’t quote since new account but That’s the type of stuff I’m looking for. Good to hear he still feels that way after being off the wellbutrin too. I’ve tried messaging people too that posted a few years back just to try and get a response from them but nothing so far.

And I’ve seen the 1-2 year recovery accounts on YBOP but all of them only mentioned PIED as a symptom. Which I don’t doubt can take that long since the rewiring is mostly done via intimacy which may not happen everyday.

You are not crazy, and if your doctor can't see anything wrong you are not going to die. Your symptoms are real, and they do have A reason because they cannot appear out of nothing.
Nobody here can guarantee for us if it's 20%, 70% or maybe even 100% porn related. And these percentages differ greatly between every individual in this thread. That's the truth and we all know this

You could consider me a experienced nofap member at 351 days hardmode I do have a question though about the journey, how do the good and bad symptom days improve over time do you have longer and better good day streaks and shorter bad day streaks over time? I’d like to know more about how the improvements are made over time until you are fully cured and everyday is pmo symptom free. Thanks for the information.

Yes brother. If you read my post again, I have mentioned in it that I am going through PAWS and at one point they were so bad that I stopped caring about PIED. I started my journey to cure my PIED, and I have recovered from it thankfully. Things are good in bed and getting more better with time. But I have not recovered from PAWS yet. The battle is ongoing and I am hoping to recover from paws as well in next 6 months. I have read in detail about intermittent fasting and how it can help in rewiring our brains faster. Starting on that from tomorrow.

Well firstly big congrats on almost a year of hard work. I hope soon that i will be there once again :)

I would say its different for everyone but i can say how my experience has been so far. The first 4 months for me were basically withdrawals with very minor improvements. Month 5 was better in terms of most of the depression seemed to had gone away, i also had a period of maybe 5-7 days in which symptoms seemed to improve a lot. Month 6 has been about the same as month 5, but the symptoms have changed. Negative thoughts have decreased, im sleeping better and the symptoms have seemed to improve slightly. Its been hard to tell over the past few weeks as ive been very sick but i still generally think things are getting better :D

At 351 days have you seen improvements? What are you still struggling with?

Interesting read. I have always been uncertain of using SSRIs while in recovery, though it seems a few people have had success with them.

  14. Look up @DarkSektur. He successfully recovered from PAWS in 18 months.

Also had a MO relapse with fantasy yesterday. Almost feels like a PMO relapse. Feel a tension in my body, could not close an eye the whole night and have some of these flu like symptoms again. Going to try monk mode for years. Fuck orgasms man they completely mess me up. Started thinking I suffer from Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome (POIS)

I'm not actually depressed but having quite a few negative emotions burst when I'm alone too much, I'm grateful that I'm much more stable now, but the fact that when I started nofap first I started having a lot of expectations, the days that I exercised, woke up and went to bed at the same time (that lasted for two days) were like the peak time of my life, I bet you'd die to make your whole life like those 2 days, I was the most hilarious person in class, opposed to my normal depressed kind of phase, the energy was awesome, the words that I was coming up with were awesome, it was like you're a star for that period of time, my brain worked better than anybody in my class for those days energy, fulfillment, alertness and focus were on peak. I would love to make my whole life like that , but I couldn't become that person again. So I held the expectation that after going through flatline my life will become like this but no it didn't.

how far into your streak did you receive your 2 days of feeling amazing and how far into that streak did you get if you didn’t relapse?
