A different kind of success story

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Aug 9, 2020.

  1. Fast story, for what it's worth.

I started to have physical issues of PIED in late 2017/early 2018. Eventually found NoFap site, read up on everything and decided to quit PMO for life. Made a journal, checked in for about 30-45 days or so. Had a decent little 3 week streak too. One day I fapped, and fapped again, and forgot to log my relapse, and then didn't come back to check in. That was June 2018. I rode that relapse and reverted to the PMO life for a year and a half.

DEC 2019 a wake up call hit me hard. I decided I needed to do this. Basically started around New Year. As you can see in my signature I have had some issues. 50+ days of Porn and a few days of only MO. BUT... look closer. Almost 180 days now clean this year. Almost half of a year, NOT FAPPING. *At the time of this entry

This is a 30 year habit for me. And I am beating it. Slow and steady. I am here, I have relapsed 16 different times this year. Some for a day, once for 11 days (Yikes, right?). But I am here. Owning it. Working on it. And even though I haven't had the magical 90 days reboot... my brain IS being rewired. Many days I do not think of Porn. The closest I get to the matter is usually on this forum, checking in and reading about/writing about PMO habits. Lots of days I wake up, work through the day, and go to sleep without even a flicker of an urge to look at porn, or grab myself for a fap session.

I hope this encourages some of you to keep fighting. I will.. I promise!

Congratulations, that is more than 90% clean days this year. No mean feat.

  4. Thank you. I am just hoping to let folks see everyone doesn't just stop one day and it's all rises after that. I fully intend to finish 2020 strong!

  5. Yea. I'm a numbers guy and in my journal I get into the math of it all, a lot. It's probably what keeps me going some days is the ratios and trying to repair the statistical curve.
