Hey guys, I recently realised I didn't reset my counter a couple of days ago, so I reseted it today.
Also today I felt great! Like really really really great! It was a productive day, a fun day, a day with delicious food etc. And I just felt really thankful for everything God gives us. Yeah we are in the biggest fight of our lifes right now, and I am so thankful I found this chat, and am able to fight together and with God on our side!

Am praying for you all, one more day indeed!

    Day 40.

Father God, I wanna thank you for this opportunity to fast for 40 days, I also want to thank you for the ones that joined as well, @Tao Jones @Looking4Freedom @1StP412 @Euthyphro @Kemar935 @skywalkersbo thats you keep guiding them on the rest of this journey keep them in your presence and keep them faithful, help us all to finish this last day and not forget to keep fighting the good fight, thank you for everything and in Jesus name I pray, Amen

  6. How did the fast go for everyone? I found it a great reminder that fasting is a routine part of the disciple's life. I am bouncing from this fasting period into a longer period of food fasting. It's easier for me to do this when the weather warms up, so I am looking forward to a "stronger" fast in the upcoming months.

I broke my alcohol and sugar fast yesterday, but plan to basically go right back on it today as part of my food fasting. Onward!

Thanks, @LonelyStrength , for setting this up!

    We are done guys!!

I wanna share with you guys a recap of my personal fasting... for 1 no pmo, I relapsed a total of 5 times during this duration, but Im more satisfied with the fact that I did not look at Anything pornography at all during the 40 days!! thats a personal win for me.

Second was no coffee, I did go the 40 days without coffee , so I thank God for allowing me to win and control myself, and giving me the strength to control my desires.

Third was no sweets, donuts, candy, cake, etc was another, I only went 20 days without sweets, but since I usually eat a lot of candy 20 days is a win for me.

In the end, I thank God for time to challenge myself and to depend on him for change and self control, and I wanna thank you guys for joining, you guys are a great help and a great influence to keep fighting the good fight and to stay close to God, you guys are the best and I love you guys, You guys will always be in my prayers

Ill be posting more in challenges in the future!

Thanks for setting this whole thing up. I'm happy for you, and hope to see more challenges in the future. Indeed it has been nice to be in a group with you guys. I wouldn't mind keeping this forum going while (when needed) people can individually set up new goals. But if you think it's better to start a whole new forum I'm fine with that too haha.

    Let's keep in touch!

    What about a smartphone fast?

I realized that I grab my smartphone way to often and to quickly in order to distract myself. It seems that I cannot endure any quiet time any more. There always need to be the noises of entertainment, news, etc. I feel like this also has made me numb to the voice of God in my life, because my mind is filled with all those worldly thoughts from youtube and the news. It has also been the source of temptation for me in the past - even though that has not happened in a long time, the amount of ungodly things I watch every day still bothers me!
So, my plan is to let my wife hide my smartphone and access only once a day to answer my whatsapp messages (don't want to lose touch with my friends). I plan to try that for a week and then re-evaluate. Probably there are valuable lessons that I can take from this. And this quarantine time is the best opportunity to try it! :) Anyone wants to participate?

  12. I don't use my phone for anything besides work and messaging with family and AP groups, but I highly commend this fasting idea, @Kyrie eleison! Eliminating all idle browsing has been one of the most helpful habits I have picked up along the way. I wish you well in this and pray that your fast from the world will mean further feasting with and on the Lord!

I will try this smartphone fast now for one week starting tonight, but not as hardcore as I said before ;). One of my APs showed me the app Digital Detox with which I can block my phone except for some whitelisted apps. So I will block everything except
    - my alarm clock,
    - my whatsapp,
    - and of course phone calls / sms.
My plan is now to hide my phone near the bedroom (so I can use it as my alarm clock), access whatsapp only via my laptop to stay in touch with my APs and answer incoming phone calls if neccessary. My goal is to break the bad habit of looking on my phone every other minute, scrolling though the news, image boards or youtube and filling my mind with the things of this world. I am looking forward to see what effect it will have on my spiritual life, my addiction of sexual thoughts before falling asleep and maybe even which habits I can establish instead - e.g. reading a book when I'm bored instead of scrolling through the news? I'll let you know :)

That's an awesome Idea Kyrie! Would love to join you, but unfortunately atm I really can't. Since I'm a student all my lessons, documents, contacts are on my phone + I have a long ditance relationship. However I will join you with the attempt of not watching youtube for 1 month!
