    Day 6 - I was depressed and suicidal, but then my mood improved. I was very productive.

    My morning routine:
    • Pray + visualization + affirmations.
    • Have a healthy breakfast.
    • Study Japanese.
    • Study digital marketing.
    • Workout + cold shower.
    My evening habits:
    • Write in my journal.
    • Do my to-do list for the next day.
    • Have dinner.
    • Pray

    Doing good. No urges. Been preparing for a coding interview I have next week. Work is shit but interviews lining up has made me hopeful.

    Hi!
    First time posting, but I feel it's time!

    I've been trying to avoid porn so many times, but have been doing all on my own. I need support, accountability, other humans!

    Reading through this thread (not all pages) I related a lot.

    I feel so ashamed, by watching porn, and by not be able to STOP! Just recently got out of a shorter relationship and I felt how my addiction to porn was in the way to actually connect deeper with her. It felt like I lied because I didn't tell her about my struggles, and in a way I did. Also, had trouble with staying hard during sex.. that's a lot of shame in that for a man, I feel.

    I'm 36 years old and have been using porn since my teenage years, so it's been a few years now. Don't think I've gone more than just little over 10 days without, in my best periods.

    Anyway, I'm here, and I want to find a way out of it.

    Current streak when writing this, 1 day.

    On behalf of everyone, we wish you welcome. You're in good company.

    Good to hear that you are determined to quit and good to hear your pain of finding out how your addiction has destroyed your life. Let the pain fuel you and let it disgust you towards PMO.

    My tips for starting:
    - Make your goal as specific as possible
    - Bring as much routine in your day as you can. By doing this, you break your PMO routine.
    - Talk about it with close friends or family members that you trust. It's very difficult, yet not impossible, to do it all by yourself. This allows you to daily speak things through.

    Have been addicted for 23 years and am 33 now. It will take a long time to desensitize your brain, so don't be in a hurry. PMO might prove to be relatively easy to not do, but also get the P out of your fantasies.

    Thanks very much. This is not me changing my mind in any way, P was a disease for me and there will always be a risk of relapse if I take my eye off the ball, its only the day counting I am giving up.

    Day 20 almost completed. I woke up with strong urges this morning but I fought through them, did a few push ups and went back to sleep for another hour before taking a cold shower.

    Checking in. Most of my day is going in prepping for the interview. Very stressed for this.

    Day 63

    Was busy yesterday, but stopped early. Had the chance to rewind a bit and prepare food before I would pick up my lovely GF. Dinner was lovely and the desserts were a success. I really liked learning this elaborate new recipe.

    My GF and I became intimate, but didn’t have sex. I brought her back home very late.

    Work-out:
    Did my dumbbell workout. No walk yesterday.

    Netflix:
    Watched 20 minutes of Netlix and 15 minutes of a documentary on another platform.

    Meditation:
    Meditated for 5 minutes. Not much time to fit meditation in. Intend to get more minutes in today.

    Your Brain On Porn/Study:
    Read in Your Brain On Porn the reason why a cold turkey reboot is needed. When you intermittently use PMO, the compulsion to do it gets stronger. That's why consistent abstinence makes the reboot much easier

    Sleep:
    Slept a late as I brought my GF home. I feel tired and dreamt again

    Day 64

    Visited my parents yesterday and spent big part of the day there. No chance to have urges or to do my job. Came back around dinner and started to cook right away. Tried out a new recipe and really loved it.

    Work-out:
    Didn’t do my workout, as I didn’t manage to do it in the afternoon. Doing it in the evening will disrupt my routine. Took a long walk and got my steps in.

    Netflix:
    Watched 30 minutes of a documentary on Netlix about Martial Arts. Pretty cool

    Meditation:
    Meditated for 25 minutes. Felt calm and peaceful after finishing.

    Your Brain On Porn/Study:
    Started in Dopamine Nation. Turns out the book and the writer really focus on porn addiction, but pull it broader to an overload of dopamine to the system.

    Read in YBOP and they say that rebooting doesn’t guarantee that a person who has had P problems can safely return to P in the future. Many guys learn this the hard way and think they can go back to their old routines now their pee pee is saluting them again. In case you had the hope you can one day return to P, I suggest you to get this out of your head. This will not help you in recovery.

    Sleep:
    Slept on time and feel rested.
