Advice from a married guy

Discussion in 'Loneliness' started by MitchA, Oct 1, 2023.

  1. Yeah, I am kind a loner. very detached from sentiments, lack empathy to a degree too. I find it harder to make connections, mainly because small talk irritates the crap out of me. The plus side to that is, I' am a goal chasing machine.

The way they gaslight and condescend. Not all, but I can just imagine nagging to do this and that at home while they're "suffering" to load the dishwasher.

  3. I'm confused. The husbands or the wives are condescending and gaslighting?

Who is nagging who? Who is "suffering" in loading the dishwasher?

Personally, I work a full time job, and then do chores when I am done with work. Also, I am the sole driver in the family (which I hope my wife will change that soon), and my family has places to go. I'm not "suffering" and I am not being nagged at. It's just me stepping up, being responsible, and taking care of my family.

  4. If you work full time and do chores, what your wife doing???

  5. I think @lirider means the women he's interacted with are doing the gaslighting/condescending. And that they claim they are "suffering" when doing housechores such as loading dishwasher.
(i have washed dishes by hand all my life so if that is the case, I would make a better wife than these women)

  6. Homeschooling the kids and cooking meals.

  7. Your wife is literally not doing much tbh. Is she cleaning and washing your clothes or the house??

  8. So, you've decided that his wife isn't "doing much." First, have you ever homeschooled children? Are you a teacher? Just because you and other people in this thread might be clueless about the amount of time and effort it actually takes, it doesn't diminish the reality of it. It's a full-time job that you just don't get paid to do. So, he goes out and works his full-time job, she stays home and works her full-time job that doesn't receive pay, and when he comes home, they share the household duties. That's called team work. That means he isn't only thinking of himself whenever he's home. That's respectable. It's sad that some people have no idea what they're talking about, yet they judge and draw conclusions as if they do.

  9. Get to know my situation first before making snap judgements like that. I wash my own clothes and the kids clothes and I clean up after myself.

I refuse to enslave my wife and I am sick and tired of people continually justify wage-earners' laziness at home. I heard this garbage before from my alcoholic father who would throw things at my mother and punch holes in the wall.

  10. You seem upset man. It was just a suggestion. It's your house, your wife and your life. You do what you want.....

I'm kinda feeling lonely and happy at the same time while being single. What a paradox...

What are you even doing on this forum? There's a limit to how much people care about your life. Like Freeddom_Taker, says, it's your life do what you want. We're talking about our own experiences because you asked and and all of a sudden you're looking to justify how great your wife and how much you "step up". I said not all but some.

What are you doing on this forum? Oh yeah. That's right. I imagine that you are one of the other many men on this forum that hate women and anytime a man talks about his wife its a problem. I hope you're proud of yourself.

Lemme see, I've seen for a couple weeks now how you and others have been attacking my husband and you don't realize why I'm angry? Oh yeah, because of this thread and that stupid little boy in the other thread my husband has now left NoFap.

Read the whole post. I don't feel I attacked anyone. I said SOME not all women at work make me glad I don't have to deal with them at home. He asked why, I told him. Then all of a sudden he goes on the offensive on why his wife is great, his family is tight etc. and it totally goes off topic. If life is so great, and his wife is so awesome why is he here? Most guys here are humble and struggling with porn. If that's your husband you can talk to him face to face and not troll the forum. Some of us aren't as lucky.

  18. I don't think you said anything wrong either. In fact, I bet if you said the exact same thing but replaced women with men, nobody would have batted an eyelid. Just remember for the future, criticising women for literally anything makes you a sexist incel chud.

  19. No, I'm not taking sides. I was responding to someone (not you) who made the comment that his "wife is literally not doing much" when she homeschools their kids and shares household duties with him. And, I asked if he ever homeschooled or if he was a teacher. Then, I explained why I thought his judgement was unfair. I, too, have homeschooled my kids along with one more from our neighborhood, and I know how much work it takes. We are allowed to post in the forums along with everyone else, and we're allowed to give our opinions. My opinion is that he determined she "isn't doing much" when he actually has no idea how much she does.

  20. He wasn't even responding to you, and he never said you were attacking anyone. He was talking about the same comment I was replying to that said his wife literally isn't doing much. He quoted it in his reply.
