Has anyone here got any experience with insomnia and taking sleepers or any meds to help?
I'm currently in a bad flatline with dead libido and suffering from extreme anxiety which is causing me to get nearly 0 sleep maybe 1 or 2 hours a night if I'm lucky.
I'm on day 15 no pmo after a bad relapse put me into this flatline.
Doctor prescribed me anti-histamine phenergan (promethazine) but I'm reluctant to take as its a dopamine antagonist and I want to restrengthen my dopamine receptors as much as possible to reboot.
Anybody here know if phenergan would prolong / worsen my flatline or is there a better alternative medication to get me some sleep?
Currently using green tea and valerian root with not much success.
Any Help much appreciated!!

Hey brother, I personally never had thanks god any too strong insomnia in my rebooting process, but I can imagine how tough it must be. However, I have gone through a lot of withdrawal symptomps and neither of them are nice. The biggest thing that helped me was identifying these symptomps as withdrawal. Even while feeling bad, those symptoms can be your greatest teachers. They show you how severe your addiction is impacting your life. Next time your sleepless in your bed, maybe you can think about that and find some peace in the thought, that dealing with this withdrawal is exactly the same process that will free yourself from the problem that gave you this all. Luckily this should not be a chronic thing and the insomnia will go away if you stick to your reboot. Remember even if it doesnt feel like that in the moment, your addiction is a greater problem than the insomnia.

Also I remind you to not take any medical advice from strangers in the internet regarding medication. However, I personally have made good experience with a root bark called mulungu. Its a traditional indigenous brazilian medicine. Its quite strong for the fact that its a plant medicine. But make your own research on that.

I wish you the best! Greetings from Germany

Thanks for the response brother.
I will do some research on mulnugu and hopefully find positives.
This flatline has scared me to death so PMO will 100% never exist in my life again. Anxiety is ramped up, I feel like I'm in fight or flight mode at all times since the start of this flatline making sleep impossible.
I've started cold showers, yoga and meditation that I'm hoping can get this under control combined with a supplement to aid sleep hopefully i will make it :emoji_pray:

Wauw....... this is pretty intense bro. I had some flatlines in my life but none of them even close to what you describe.

Are you sure this sleep problem is PMO related and not something else?.

Congrats on the streak brother!
First, I want to emphasize that this is *really* normal. You are in the drying out period. It sucks. There's no way around addiction - we gotta go through it. Your body has a lot of resetting to do so the more you can say "this too shall pass" - the better. You are going through the rebirth into your new, healthy, sober life!

With sleep I'm a big fan of liquid melatonin (liquid to control the dose). also wholesome, relaxing TV shows, and the other usual stuff - sleep mask, sound screen, custom molded earplugs (lookup Radians).

Many people with this addiction check themselves into rehab centers. It is a full-on physical detox, just like cocaine. Stay strong and remember why you're doing this!
