    Hello
I overcame porn addiction afters years of struggling and I hope I can help you out with these tips:

    1. Be Grateful: Being depressed leads to depression which is the doorway to porn and fapping. Being grateful releases dopamine which helps fight the addiction.

    2. Exercise: This is one of the greatest tips you'll ever get. Lift heavy weights atleast for an hour a day. It releases dopamine and fights addiction. Most important of all it helps increase willpower which is what is needed to fight porn addiction.

    3. Meditate and walk: When you can see the urge coming. Close your eyes, stop the thoughts from coming in and breath. Tell yourself that you will fight your addiction and free yourself of this problem. Tell yourself if you fap today you'll do it tomorrow. Motivate yourself and go for a walk. Be grateful while you take that walk.

  2. Thank you for posting this. I have been struggling for a while now, I go on streaks all the time, a month here, two weeks here, three weeks here, 18 days, 16 days here etc you get it. I want to kill this bad habit/addiction. I don't need it in my life at all. I am a motivational speaker and believe that I will be the number one speaker in the world when I get my opportunity. I have never made it to 60 days, 90 days. I have a gratitude journal I write in every days three things I am grateful. I workout, I read, I meditate and I still do it. Well one thing I have not yet had or tried is a girlfriend, I have read post that their girlfriend help them get past 6 months a year which is just amazing. The POWER OF TWO can do a lot of things. I do need to get a job also and I am sure that will help a lot. I can, I will, I must beat this, there is a way and I will find it.

Gratitude is a hard thing to fake IMO. But I think your right. I do think I get hung up in the obsessive aspects of addiction because I am basically on some level depressed. I can't see that fixation on P / MO etc is because of underlying emotionla conditions I am not even concious of half the time. PMO addiction is a weird dead end in response to those conditions.
I need to be happy. That is the only long term solution to addiction. And gratitude is probably fundamental to the experience of happiness. Easier said than done perhaps.
Thanks for reminding me about exercise. Thats something I could do with :)

    Hello waterworld
I'm glad it helps but I disagree with you when you say its hard to fake. Look, you don't have to fake it. You can be grateful for even the tiniest of the things. I usually go on a 15 minute walk early in the morning. When I walk I count all my blessing and feel the goodness as much as possible. You can be grateful for anything. I express my gratitude for my parents health, for my legs that I use to walk, my health, the food I eat daily. Theres people out there who have none of these and I express my gratitude for what I have and it has helped me a lot

Gratitude is a lifestyle. Being humble and grateful is the only way to get through life. Being humbled that you have an addiction and you're only human, but being grateful that you have opportunity to do something about it. Being humbled that you're not the man you want to be, but being grateful that you have your next breathe to change. Being humbled every time you stare a relapse right in the eye, but being grateful enough to use every opportunity to get back up.

Pride comes before the fall. And I don't want to fall. There are so many amazing things that happen in life all around me everyday. And I've missed so much of it because of porn. I would rather live in gratitude and appreciate life more than find reasons to be depressed.

    Thanks for your post man.
It reminded me why I'm doing this.

beautifully written shemonte. i can sense the pride building already within, the want to wear the number of days masturbation free as a kind of badge to show how great i am, which is fine, but listening to that voice can bring complacency, arrogance and a false sense of complete control. another trap to be aware of. cheers.
