I suppose there are some parts of the song that ring true for me. Obviously, the "broken promises" and "lies" are probably accurate for most SO's. But, most SO's that I know about have stuck around, at least for awhile...oftentimes for a long while...so the main idea of the song isn't true. Many of us have held onto hope and given chance after chance, believing in the multitude of promises that "this time" will be different. We've chosen to stay for a variety of reasons, even when we knew we probably shouldn't, and we've stretched ourselves far beyond what we even thought possible. It's really difficult to accurately put into words the way we feel about our partners' PA. I have tried many times to describe my feelings to my husband, and I wrote him a letter once trying to sum it all up, but it seems that when you turn feelings into text, so much is lost in translation.
 
To an extent. I just want honesty. The constant lying makes me think more is going on and now the trust is completely gone. The lying and hiding is what causes problems. He used to make me feel like I wasn't wanted or unloved. I finally realised that I'm not the issue and I've been in a place of healing while still trying to help him. Love can't fix everything if the other person is unwilling to get help or to properly communicate.
