PORN HABIT LOOP - IMPORTANT!

    If you are reading this article you probably have a higher streak, rebooted or maybe even relapsed. Whatever your state maybe just read alone because this is important. Let me start about my self a bit I know I haven’t really uploaded any forums for so long I am a 19 year old kid who quit porn and masturbation when 17 started in about 13 I had about 280,112,42,18 day streaks and I almost forgot 4 day streak since my last relapse, yeah I relapsed. But being a die hard fan of Alex and Nofap team I wont give up because I have dreams in my life. I been an expert about porn and what it does to your mind for 3 years explaining other people about nofap and quit porn. But why did I relapse today? I was so good why?

    In this article I want to share you why I relapsed and its very simple. You may have quit porn years ago even masturbation but remember some of its habits are lurking in your brain. I was inspired by the book Power of habit by Charles Durhigg he talks about habit loops and how to create good ones by deleting bad ones, I have a project about this but more on that on a another discussion.

    The afternoon napping/ fapping

    One day I was doing a small lecture about porn on myself and believing I wont do it again and went for a small nap after a while I got up and I was in the bathroom watching porn and soon I relapsed, it was like my brain was on auto pilot and I just realized something all these years my relapses happened after an afternoon nap. Even though I quit porn years ago I still have that habit and I realized why. When I wake up I quickly reach for my phone soon the brain goes auto pilot and searches for porn this is exactly the same for cell addiction and why people check their instagram first thing in the morning but this time it was porn. The routine became automatic and after a relapse I couldn’t believe it happened.

    CUE – Taking afternoon nap

    ROUTINE- Watching porn

    REWARD- Sense of relief and satisfaction

    This happened in my all relapses and all this time I thought it was my urge well part of it was urges but this is main reason. So I decided to do something about it. Well I kept the both cue and reward the same but I changed the routine just like in the book says and of course for every habit to change you need to believe.

    CUE – Taking afternoon nap (kept my phone far away from the room)

    ROUTINE- Meditating for 5 min on the spot or going for a walk

    REWARD- Sense of relief and satisfaction

    Remember you maybe starting nofap or even a pro already there are some habits lurking in your brain that may cause you a relapse sometimes I have a habit of watching erotic content in instagram mostly for me it was the napping thing, remember I was not addicted my brain doesn’t always tell me to watch porn while I am doing something its just those habits. So therefore Identify your habit loop (highly recommend to read power of habit by Charles Durhigg) and change that habit.

    i knew that i cant continue my day without a short nap, so i started implimenting the habit loop just like i planned soon it stared became automatic.
