Hey all. This is a post that I wanted to make to discuss with others about triggers, and what people have done to overcome them. I have started to develop my own ways to avoid these triggers, and stop an urge that has come on. If anyone would like to share their own experiences with me that would be much appreciated!

To start off I find that depending on the location I find myself in I tend to have more urges than when I am at other places. For instance when I lie down in my bed I will find myself almost instinctually reaching for my junk. Not just that the thought seem to flow more easily towards those that are going to provoke me into PMO.

It almost seems like my body and brain can recognize I am at a place I have done this thing so many times that it just automatically prepares me to do it again. This can be particularly problematic when trying to go to sleep. Another place I find myself falling into these thoughts is the shower. The one thought sparks my interest, and it feels like no matter how hard I try I can't help but convince myself to PMO. One way I have found to overcome this is to make a "shower schedule". This consists of doing all of my washing in a certain order so that I can make sure to control where the shower goes.

As for laying down in bed I will only do so if I mean to fall asleep. And the second that an urge comes up I will immediately change what I am doing. As goes for the urges I find that if I nip it in the butt as soon as a slight thought comes up I will gain control again. The problems come as soon as I start to let the perverted thoughts creep through my mind. Do not allow these to run rampant through your mind! I have started to gain more control as I learn more about what sets me off. Please share your own thoughts, and thank you for reading!
