You know, I really don't care what got chicks into porn. I am not the slight bit interested in their hobbies, or where they grew up. In journalism, there’s a difference between opinion and reporting. I definitely don’t trust Vice to give a balanced report, neither do I trust the BBC, the L.A. Times, or USA Today. The government is hit or miss, and the New York Post is so sensationalistic, they don’t inspire confidence, either. These sources aren’t claiming GDP/GDT did all these things. They are claiming the men responsible for these companies were convicted in a court of law for doing these things. Dubious as I am even of the courts, I’ll believe them before I believe the kangaroo court of 4Chan. There’s, um, a difference, I guess, in the bar of entry? Like, there’s a governing body for competently practicing law that’s literally called “the bar,” which people often fail or are removed from for being incompetent, or unethical. Then there’s the high, “unreasonable doubt” and “jury of peers” standards… I’m not saying it’s foolproof, not saying it can’t or hasn’t been gamed, I’m just saying it’s harder to do than gaming 4Chan. On one hand, agreeing to shoot a porn video, even if- no, especially if it is claimed that it won’t be posted online, is extremely stupid. Why in the world would a new porn video be shot if there were no intention of selling it online? Being stupid, though, or naïve, impulsive, having daddy issues, any of these faults you can come up with, are not crimes. These girls didn’t deserve what happened to them. As for their credibility, why is it so much easier to believe they are dumb and greedy, rather than the defendants being manipulative and even more greedy? I’ve been conned before. I’ve been played. I can see guys using all of the tactics described. I find that a hell of a lot more likely than a handful of upset girls conspiring to play Potiphar’s Wife and bring down an “innocent” porn company, and publicly admit to being exceptionally gullible, just to preserve a scrap of their questionable reputations.
Hmm, I won't be following this thread, but one point to consider perhaps. Many women go into the industry for only a short time (whether they get fired, quit or whatever) but their videos and images remain online indefinitely. I can think of one woman whose death had a lot to do with being physically assaulted by someone who knew her from her videos. But still her videos are all over the mainstream P sites as far as I know! I think for her family and friends' sake they should be taken down. Anyway I'm not really interested in arguing about this point, just take it or leave it, thanks.
