Then you should also be aware of PAWS (post acute withdrawal symptoms) that can last up to and sometimes exceed two years. This has been known to affect certain PMO addicts the same as it affects those who are recovering from cocaine addiction. I’ve seen all of saneagain’s posts and he has visited every specialist and doctor around. All of them have thoroughly checked him over and gave him a clean bill of health. This is not some “underlying health issue”. Recovery from PMO can sometimes take a very long time.

most doctors are lazy and gloss over a lot of things. i wouldnt be surprise if he had a parathyroid tumor and most clinicians are ignorant about parathyroid function. he should make sure his blood calcium (ionized) and parathormone are normal.

He already had blood work done. Again, look up PAWS. You don’t seem to be familiar with it.

You’re ignorant to what people post on here. If you used your brain you would notice a common denominator that a lot of us share these symptoms and it isn’t uncommon for addicts be it from porn, benzos , alcohol etc to experience them.

I think my last relapse must have been after 6 to 9 months. Let me tell you, not a good idea... I'm currently closing in on 2 years and have no intention of relapsing. From there my aim will be 5 years, then life. The idea of watching porn after this time has become uninteresting, ridiculous almost. But I know it would only take a minute to be hooked again. Kindling like I did, going long times, then relapsing, that combined with edging, which I also did, is one of the worst thing a recovering addict could ever do. Even after 6 or 9 months, all it takes to feel like shit is a single relapse. In case of severe addiction, actual neurological degeneration and dependencies, it can take well over a year without the prefered stimulus for the brain to somewhat balance itself out again.

I am new to NoFap. This is my first time ever trying to abstain from PMO in 2 decades. The withdrawals have been really hard. I am surprised I did not see more discussion about them on this forum.

There have been a few early benefits too.

But very noticeable withdrawals like vivid sex dreams, now transformed into sex nightmares because I think I am relapsing and wake up in a panic. Pain in chest and balls similar to heartbreak or blue balls but not as painful. Brain fog, I cannot keep track of dates or days. My coordination/speech are sometimes slow and stilted, forgetting words or walking into walls.

Hopefully, it doesn't take many months but I should prepare for some of this stuff to keep up.

Yeah, it's hell. I feel also like driving a car is somewhat more dangerous while having these PAWS.

Did you have any symptoms before quitting PMO? And did you edge, like, for hours before O?

I had a lot of symptoms/problems related to PMO. I could edge for hours and sometimes PMO 10x a day. I had anxiety, depression and a host of sexual dysfunction like DE, ED etc from it.

Don't give up. I am almost at 1 year of no PMO and I still go through periods of flatlining. I'm seeing steady, if slow, improvement. Stay positive and trust the process.

Wow 10x a day.. No wonder you have all these symptoms man..
I didn't do it 10x a day, though one session could last well over 4 hours each day feeling total bliss and ecstacy.
So I guess we both have been hardcore abusers only in a different way.

I would suggest you read through this thread: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/lets-make-a-list-of-withdrawal-symptoms.74415/
I think you will encounter many relatable stories.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

I finished a year in March/April but PMOd 4 times in 2 weeks.
    My PIED is now back.
Hopefully it won't take months again to fix but I have no idea right now.
