Becoming the writer I want to be

Working on some writing stuff as a hopeful tutor soon

 

815 words. I'm giving myself another full week to finish this chapter, and here's why.

I need to tell a story within a story in this chapter, and I'm up to that part. In order to do this I'm formatting the story as though it actually is a short story plonked in the middle of the novel. A bit weird, but not without precedent. Hyperion, a book I really enjoy, did this with one of its stories, said story being a separate novella inserted into the existing chapter. With all this in mind it's gonna take more time to be done in such a way that if you read it taken out of context, it would still make sense, while also being better within context. I hope that all makes sense lol.

 

I'm also past 600 pages total.

 

557 words. Still in the short story segment. I'm going slow because I want to get this right, it's too important to rush. I should be done this week, but if not, not a big deal.

 

How many pages have you written for both books?

 

More than 1000 by now.

 

In the span of how many months?

 

Around 18 I think.

 

703 words. I may not get done this week. I need to really work hard to get even 500 words owning to the format of this part. I am willing and happy to take my time so it's no huge issue.

 

Oh my. I'm mind blown by all of this.

 

In a good way?

 

Uh, yes. In a very very good way

 

1377 words. Short story part is done. Back on track.

 

936 words today. Chapter is done. One (ONE!) chapter remains.

 

7952 words for this chapter. Up to 618 pages. Seems like I'll end up at my goal of between 600 and 650 pages after all.

 

Got the last chapter planned out and 838 done to start it. Will be done with this before the end of the week it seems like, not a long one at all.

 

677 words. Very nearly done.

 

Where is everyone? I've been the only one posting in days.

 

920 words. Will be done tomorrow or Friday.
