How come everytime I try to embrace religion I get pulled away so strongly? I feel like porn blocks us from God, maybe that's why my prayers don't seem to be effective?

The enemy definitely wants to keep you from God. He will use whatever means he can to keep you from God. The good news is he has no power over you except that which you give to him by giving in to temptations. The power of God in Jesus has already defeated the enemy. When you put your trust in Him, you link up with His power to overcome. Have you put your trust in Jesus?

@Myfortress wow! I never the true meaning of, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bare. but when you are tempted, he will provide a way out so you can endure it". is this similar to what you said or different or what ?

My point was we are facing a defeated foe and we have the power of God available to us if we put our trust in Him and submit.
