M last night, but no P. I will continue to James 5:16 here. I am reminded that Christ "learned obedience from what he suffered," Hebrews 5:8. By the grace of God, I trust that I am here for the marathon, not the sprint.
It sucks having to post about a defeat. It makes me want to hide like Adam did in the garden. But I choose to acknowledge my sin, and I hope I do so like David did before Nathan the prophet.

I am not sure I understand the reference to Hebrews 5:8 here. Maybe you can explain that further? But I am glad you reached out to confess. I hope you are checking in directly with your APs on a daily basis, too. Hiding will never get us anywhere! Shame and condemnation have no place in the disciple's life. We are greatly loved. May that love propel us to trust; may that trust propel us to live the life Christ has secured for us.

Satan always tempts the pure, the others are already his.

Tao, I'm comparing the difficulty of surrender to God on Christ's part in the Garden of Gethsemane to the difficulty of the believer in the struggle with sin. As a part of Christ didn't want to go to the cross, but He surrendered to the will of His Father, so a part of myself does not want to turn from sin, yet I surrender to the Father's will. Check out v. 7-9. Hebrews 12:4 is similar.

I have brothers in Christ that I am open with and tell about my struggle. I do not have a set and formal AP. No one is interested.

I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong about that. It could be that I need to go and try again. I honestly have found that the Body of Christ in the small town where I live is uninterested in addressing the porn issue generally. I'll pray for someone and touch base with my brothers and see what I can do about that. I'm willing.

I am happy to discuss and help in anyway I can. You’ll overcome this. I know we all will

I'm just a bit unwilling to compare myself to Christ in that regard. Unlike us, his suffering was not brought on by sin. We suffer the consequences of sin and regret our choices. He fought against the human tendency to go our own way without ever sinning. His suffering was of another variety compared to much of ours, I think. A part of us does not want to go God's way, and so we fall. Christ never experienced the sting of remorse that we know all too well. He never had a Romans 7 moment. (I have had many!) Even in suffering, he is our superior in every possible way.

Yea! But tbh I don’t believe Christ was scared to go on the cross. The cross was only the beginning of the suffering he was going to experience! Thieves and other people were sacrificed and burnt on the cross! Christ was going to suffer Gods Wrath(way more than the cross). This is suffering we might never be able to understand. He was going to endure separation from His Father (He has never been separated from God). He was going to go to Hell!

He bore what we never could. He did what we would never be able to do. He is the Master, Kind and Good, and he is worthy of our lives and our all.

I appreciate you saying all of this Tao. On the theological point, I agree with you completely. The comparison I was making is one I believe was implicit in the text, however, the differences you pointed out are clear as well. I hope that the things I say will be taken in the context of sound doctrine, and weighed against the solid Christology, as you have done here. I affirm the creed, and the solas.

I will try connecting again with believing brothers in my area to form an AP relationship. If that fails I will follow up with you, or with the resources you pointed out.
