I had installed FortiClient and it has been working great. It is exactly the perfect alternative to how K9 served me so well. But I'm having one issue. The password to allow me to lock the settings I've put into FortiClient is exactly the same as my System settings....which is not very conducive to serving as blocker. With K9 I was able to use a completely different password from my System password which would make it more difficult to bypass the blocker unless I voluntarily chose to. Am I able to do the same with FortiClient? I'm ok for right now, but we all know not every day is a day where you mental strength is high.....

There are no images talking about passwords corresponding specifically to FortiClient. The only images are the youtube tutorial.

I'm having some trouble with a site that I use to watch football matches on being allowed by FortiClient. It is clearly Forticlient getting in the way of the site working because whenever I disable FortiClient the streaming site begins to work again. I usually use the streaming site with AdBlock engaged so I'm wondering if the "pornish" ads that sometimes pop up is affecting the streaming from occurring. I am able to access the site no problem even when FortiClient is enabled, but only the video feed gets cut off. If anybody could give some guidance that would be nice. I'm computer literate, but not a whiz kid either. Thanks for any help.

the site I use in in the spoiler just in case

I think it's not possible to do this only with Spin Web Browser.

I think the only way is to find out the host name and use add it to the forticlinet's exception list.
The video thingis blocked for me too but I am not using forticlient ,are you sure its a safe site?

I forgot to mention I had actually added the domain to my exclusions list as a Regex, URL, and Wildcard. But still no luck.....this is a sticky one...damn.....it's my go to streaming site for all things footy too.

    For Windows PC:
I use DNS over HTTPS feature in both Chrome and Firefox. Set it to Cleanbrowsing DNS Family Filter (best DNS for porn addiction). Config it by setting up Group Policy so you can't turn it off easily without admin password. Change your own account to standard user. Put the admin password in a safe place and not easily accessible.

Use it with Cold Turkey. There are two ways of set up Cold Turkey.
    1) Whitelist: whitelist only safe websites you use everyday (no social media sites). Block Google Search and all other alternative search engines + other unknown sites.
    2) Blacklist: Block Google Search Video and Google Search Images + block social media sites + block relapsed keywords and other sites that are not blocked by Cleanbrowsing DNS.

Personally, I use a combination of whitelist and blacklist approach. I use Whitelist mode during working hours to reduce distractions and Blacklist mode during my free time. I also have an enabled block that use to block the relapsed keywords continuously. Relapsed keywords are the keywords that Cleanbrowsing DNS can't block them effectively.

DNS over HTTPS has an advantage that you can connect to unknown network safely because the browser always communicate with Cleanbrowsing DNS regularly without your intervention.

    Issues:
    1. To report a site to Cleanbrowsing DNS, you can go to https://categorify.org/recategorize
    2. To make sure the DNS is set correctly, go to dnsleaktest.com to verify the DNS server you are using.

Another good tool you can take a look is Yoga DNS, it redirects all DNS requests to your own local DNS server (based on Dnscrypt-proxy). A disadvantage of Yoga DNS is it could not block search queries while Cold Turkey can do it effectively.

    Tips:
    1. Block Google Search Image and Video are necessary. My data told me that most of my relapses come from these tools. Google Safe Search does not effectively filtered troubled images even in Enforce Safe Search mode. I can still find the way to get around it by browsing similar images.
    2. Never ever use a search engine other than Google. Other search engines are doing a bad job separating the good apples and the bad apples.
    3. I have used K9 Web Protection in the past. It made my computer slowing down significantly during browsing the web. But the combination setup of Cleanbrowsing Family Filter - DNS over HTTPS and Cold Turkey is very fast and efficient.

  15. Which app lock are you talking about ? Could you please send the link ? In android there are good app lockers but sometimes you could bypass them. I use avira app lock and Calculator app lock. Bulldog blocker immediately overlays a screen unlike adult-block

Forticlient gets a lot of false positive porn sites , that site probably is locked because it is an illegal streaming or maybe for the porn adds.
If you get in that site and than visit the section ''violations'' in forticlient you should be able to find the reason for that block.
For example if the reason is 'Other Adult Materials' or 'Illegal or unethical' you could disable these configurations from the filter and than be able to look at that content.
If you are still not sure , you could quit the filters parameters one at time and test to find wich restriction blocks the streaming.

hi everyone. i had forticlient downloaded 2 weeks ago and it seemed to be working but last night i had a strong urge and tried porn sites i used to visit and they worked. this morning i went into forticlient's settings after unlocking the lockbox password and found there was nothing to change. it's set for all porn sites to be blocked. and porn sites are still accessible from my computer. anyone have any idea how to troubleshoot this?

I used Forticlient once and uninstalled it. I didn't like how it works.

You should try Cold Turkey whitelist mode. Prepare a list of your common websites and put them into whitelist. Enforce Google Safe Search at DNS level. Block Google Search or at least block Google Search Image and Video option.

By the way, Cold Turkey is very light and can be configured to block sites according to your need. One big advantage of Cold Turkey is blocking search results, not an entire google.com site. This is the feature that Forticlient doesn't have it.

The utopia you want to reach is when you genuinely don’t want to search for porn and blockers aren’t necessary. Removing porn bookmarks and the like is the way to go, though. I did it and it worked a treat.
