11 Days In And Brain Is Trying To Trick Me Into Relapse

    Hi, guys, I am 11 days in on my nofap journey and my brain is trying to trick me into relapse like it's just this once or masturbation and porn is normal any tips on how to fight back the mind tricks?

    Yeah, quickly remeber why u want to quit . I want to quit for mental clarity . When it started to trick me , my mind became very clear where i thought i am done with this addiction and i relapsed

    Try to sleep , did not work take a cold shower , did not work go for a run , did not work dont touch ur penis . Go out until the urges caalm down

    Try to stop taking warm showers for a while, see if that helps. They seem to induce urges for me. Im at 52 days with no urges, taking only cold ones.

    Also intermittent fasting, high intensity exercise helps a lot.

  4. Wow I know this well. I've gotten fooled before. I've noticed the way my brain tries to to escalate the urges by tricking me into fantasizing. So for me the best strategy to counteract this is to ground myself quickly by doing something either physical (exercise, take a walk, housework, etc.) or intellectual (crossword puzzle, challenging game, reading).

    OK, guys thanks for all the information and tips I will try to do them all I am already doing exercises and cold showers but I will not give into the mind tricks.

    Your biggest weapon is seeing through the bullshit your brain is trying to tell you: “you might as well bust a nut right away, you know you will end up doing it anyway, otherwise you will feel like this forever and ever”. This is a LIE! Be in command! You are doing this, period. If your goal is a week, then you hold on for a week. If it’s 30 days, you stay free for 30 days etc. After that you are free to evaluate and decide what is your next step.

    Good luck with everything mate (all though I don’t believe “luck” has anything to do with it)

    Hey mate, I had a similar thing happen on Friday when I was home alone. Managed to get through the day but then it happened again at night. Typed in to google "Redtube" but didn't hit enter because I knew that would be the trigger

    Thanks, guys for the support my goal is to be on nofap for life and I am already seeing benefits like better skin and more muscle showing and fat loss and of course not feeling guilty and ashamed all the time. this new lifestyle I have chosen is a real eye-opener.

    There are not certain rules that work for everybody. I do cold showers and I can be ridiculously horny while taking a cold shower and after and it does nothing to me. I still have urges. Your brain has to develop its own ways of overcoming urges by you being strong and fighting with it your way through.

    I, for example, became angry with myself as hell and punched the table at least 5x very strongly in anger that I don't want to masturbate and watch porn and be controlled by this shit anymore. My "personality" which wanted to fap run away and didn't showed up at least 2 days :D (joking) and after I have done it, it is still very manageable with my urges. What helps if you can do it is a little nap and concentrating on your breathing. That also worked for me. Also, success in anything helps with urges because you feel good about yourself.

    Thanks for your information when I get urges I just listen to music or do something to distract myself and in just a couple of minutes the urges are gone.
