41 days and still no benefits/anxiety

    Started nofap on may 15 and on the 20th I had a major panic attack. I have never had issues with this ever in my life. I went to the er scared for my life but they said everything was fine. They ran blood and urine tests and even X-rays of my chest and everything was perfect. Could all this just be withdrawal. The next few weeks after the attack I went through other symptoms like brain fog, loss of appetite. However I still feel my anxiety is high. Some days are better than most and at first I had extreme fears of almost everything but now it’s sort of reduced to only social anxiety. I haven’t had another attack but my anxiety is still present. I’m only on day 41. Do you guys think it’ll get better?

    It happened the same to me although im on day 12th with some constant worsening effects and few good sporadic effects.

    Yea its withdrawl. Ive always had Anxiety, depression, self hate issues but some where around day 40 all those things got amped up worse than normal. I found out its just your mind freaking out because it doesn't have its porn anymore by asking on the forums. Just keep fighting!

    Wow I don’t know the words to describe what porn does to the brain. I stopped because I found myself going to more hardcore stuff. Literally I couldn’t orgasm if it wasn’t shit like incest gay or trans. That’s why I decided to fully stop.

    It does get better man. Just don’t feed into it too much. Embrace the emotions your feeling. We’ve been so numbed by porn. The emotions your feeling are things that your gonna feel again but next time it’ll be for the correct reason. That’s what life is about. I know some others that are addicted and have been through some hard times and they don’t know how to deal with it except jacking off for hours. I’m glad you decided to take action. Withdrawal sucks but it makes you stronger

    I was told that its bad when I was 12, tried to stop right after hearing that but couldn't even make it a day. Got extremely sick for a week, so sick I couldn't even play video games and I saw that as a way to be free. Thought I'd be to sick to PMO, but even then I couldn't, only made it like 3 days. That was the moment I realized ot was a problem.

    Exactly I wish I would of learned about this at that age. I don’t think I would of quit completely but reduced the amount of intake. I knew it was bad when I got into the more extreme or fetish stuff about November last year

    Yeah I know right? It sucks because really all u hear is "Everyone watches porn, its normal". That's actually how it started for me. Me and my friends were playing Call of duty and PMO came up in the conversation, they were all doing it but I didn't even know what it was. They made fun of me and called me a freak and a loser for the fact that I didn't do it and so I started doing it. Sounds just like those people who got peer pressured into drugs right? Its the same thing, its absolutely a drug, if I was told that sooner I would never have done it. I avoided all the peer pressure shit in life from alcohol, drugs, weed, cigarettes etc because I was taught about what they were, PMO is the only one that got me because I was uneducated.

    Exactly !! No one thinks it’s a drug. Just a normal phase of growing up until one day you don’t know why you can’t get hard with a girl or the only thing that makes you orgasm is sick shit like gay or transwoman.

    All those things work magic !! I’ve been working out every day and it does help the anxiety. Even though it’s still there Im noticing how much bigger I’m getting and it makes me happy. Not as much as dopamine from porn and masturbating but those are the things you should get happiness from. I was a little girl with cold showers at first but now I can’t wait to step in. They feel amazing and on days where my anxiety is a little more severe idk what is it about the cold showers but they somehow calm me down that and breathing. Sleep is a no brained for me and it’s very important. A good rest makes you feel more balanced. A tip I’ll give you is don’t drink too much caffeine and sugar. They’re made to speed up the heart for energy which only makes the anxiety worse. Try eating more fruit and get your glucose a more natural way.

    How much time does the good effects of these activities last for you?
    About the coffee, i drink about 4-6 cups of coffee daily. I should take your advice.

    Lol I think your amount of coffee intake alone is causing the anxiety. Jk but it is a lot I would definitley reduce to maybe 1 and 2 max. Tea has also helped me so much. So for me my anxiety was very severe and that’s when I started working out and taking cold showers. It helps the anxiety for a couple of hours maybe 4-6. However after I started coping better with it and I can tell it has reduced to a social form so like when i go to a mall or out to eat I feel uncomfortable. When I first started it was so bad I was afraid to leave the house but like I said don’t feed so much into it. The symptoms will slowly start to decrease little by little. I still follow my routine of working out and cold showers but another thing I started doing since my anxiety is more of a social one now is that I go to a Starbucks, Walmart, or target and literally just walk around and sometimes talk to an employee or someone at Starbucks. Doesn’t have to be a long conversation but literally just making eye contact, smiling, and giving a compliment or asking a question does wonders for any type of anxiety in general. If you feel your anxiety high don’t feed so much into it. That was the mistake I did and literally thought something was wrong with me and I needed medication and therapists but all those negative thoughts and feelings are your brain fighting you because your not giving it it’s fix. The dopamine released from masturbating is literally the same as a heroin hit so yeah I’d say your brain is going haywire but just keep calm and like I said embrace the feelings

    Out of my 40 days I started maybe 2 weeks ago. I made the mistake of not getting educated on what was gonna happen. You think your brain is just gonna go back to normal after years of getting it addicted to dopamine releases to that equivalent of heroin? Nope. Im telling you this isn’t just a stop pmo and you just get better. The more effective you are in setting a routine and good habits and hobbies the faster I believe recovery is sped up. I know it sucks and it’s so scary at times but the withdrawals are worth it.

    1- ill see how i do in 2 week.
    2- in my previous PMO before this one, i PMO for 5 months and i partially recovered in about 1.5 years (with sleep pills)
