Hi there. I am new to this thing and still trying to figure out how to navigate. I feel awkward and nervous about this but I really need to start getting serious about helping myself recover from porn addiction. So, here I go!

I'm female, 24, and started using porn and masturbating to it since I was around 13. I did not realize that I had a serious addiction until I stepped into college. I found myself always craving for it and would even masturbate secretly with my roommates in the room. Ever since then, I have been trying to quit but used stress as an excuse to escape to porn and so would always fail. I have tried internet filters but I would always find my way around it. No one else knows about this problem as I am ashamed of it. Fortunately, I have discovered this forum and decided to give this a try. I watch porn and masturbate to it at least once every week, sometimes more. I last used it just two hours ago and I am sick and tired of the bad, guilty, and disappointing feeling I get after doing it. So hopefully, this will help me recover. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone here. Tips or advice, anyone?

Hello and welcome! I don't have any advice, I'm no example for anyone, but I can give you my support as a friend. Search for your doubts in the forum, surely there's a lot of answers out there.

Hello. Your support is more than enough! Thank you so much!

  4. Another fallen soldier. Every day it blows my mind how this addiction hopelessly traps people including my self.

My only advice to you is get serious about it and try to formulate in your mind that you are leaving this behavior for good.

Thank you. And yes, that's what I am currently working on. It's one thing to say that you're done and another to actually stop the behavior. I have said I would quit thousands of times yet would always get back to doing it. So I am really working towards focusing harder on leaving this behavior overall.
