Can S*x toys (m*sturbators, str*kers, etc.) be helpful in breaking a p*rn addiciton? I think that just using these toys instead of using p*rn would be helpful. What do you think?
Honestly, rebooting is a personal experience and no ones reboot is the same. Are you trying to quit P and M, or just P?
If he were trying to stop M he wouldn't be asking whether to start masturbating, don't you think? @OP I have yet to hear of anybody who found it helpful to stroke it while abstaining from porn. Most of the top fapstronauts are hard moders, some allow sex. You're just looking for an excuse to get your rocks off. You're 13 days in, jerking off will just lead you back to porn. Don't do it.
1. Toys can be a trigger for escalating into watching P, in your brain the usage of toys is probably deeply related to watching P. 2. similar to P., toys are a supernormal sexual stimulus that releases more dopamine than normal M., therefore they are probably activating the addictive circuits in your brain more. -> your brain is looking for it’s next rush of dopamine which is as similar to the addictive structures as possible. Try replacing the functionality you’re looking for in using toys by other productive actions like engaging in social life, sports, reading, cooking, cleaning your room etc…. If you want to break the addiction you have to stop behavior that’s a shortcut to gratification.
DONT DO IT. This caused a relapse of mine. I was tortured the next day. Craving P. My brain was doing a backflip wanting more. I would avoid MO personally.
It's great that you're thinking about ways to address this. Using sex toys as an alternative to porn can be a personal choice, but it's important to remember that they won't necessarily "cure" a porn addiction on their own. It might be more beneficial to explore the root causes of your addiction and find healthier coping mechanisms. Remember, everyone's journey is different, so do what feels right for you.
