    Day 6/365
I decided to take a break from the website until sunday the 3rd of june. Focusing too much on the count atm doesn't do me any good in my opinion, especially because I relapsed recently, and its a bit depressing for me.
I am determined to proove to the community, that you can go back to your old level, even after a relapse. We are all in the same boat, trying to reach the same destination.
Wish me luck, Im looking forward to reading about your progress upon return!

    That's more like it.

"One last try" is baloney. The enemy knows what you know. He jumps for joy when you start putting limits on your resolve. He laughs when you start to tremble at how far there is to go.

There have been hundreds of people who have started this challenge. Most have disappeared, some have even deleted their accounts. The same is true for all of "Nofapdom."

I would like to believe that those who have disappeared from the thread are in a good place right now, but chances are (if I could know) I could use my fingers to count how many really are. That way lies chaos!

As I posted elsewhere recently: Success is never owned; it is always rented - and the rent is due every day!

This game is a mental one. A number is just a number, not an excuse to feel one way or another. At check-in time, we need to mentally convince ourselves that yes, we can make it through the next 24 hours. That really isn't that long. After a while, the daily routine will start to kick in and there will be more momentum. Until then, well, it's just one day. Once you say, yeah, I can do that, then it isn't that much of a stretch to visualize success and believe it.

A small victory is a victory, period, and if you're hungry enough for it, you'll grab it as fast as you can! When you're desperate, interpret that as being extremely hungry for your daily win. Your future self will look back and thank you for what you do today. And today's crumbs one day will be nuggets of pure gold.

Delay is the antidote for the poison of instant gratification!

That's excellent! In spiritual combat, running away is a triumph!

Sometimes smaller goals can initially be more compelling, have you tried just shooting for a month or even a day first? There's a good reason AA says "one day at a time." Habit change is no joke it takes a lot of work, there's thousands struggling with the same thing- just keep after it and try to adjust to make the goals you make quickly achievable

Thanks bro! Yes.. It's not always about fighting head on, sometimes if the enemy is too strong you need to have the will power to flee away.
    Congrats on your 1 week!

  12. Let me just say this post has really made my morning and is very encouraging. Thanks brother! I will remember that quote 'Success is never owned, it is always rented...' Very powerful indeed!
Just to know, who do you refer to as the enemy? Myself? My distorted thinking? The part of me that really enjoys PMO?

  13. You are definitely right about it being a day at a time thing. When one thinks about 365 days, it feels like a huge number that might be impossible to accomplish especially for someone like me who has been addicted for almost 20 years. However, the only way I got to an initial 60 day streak was by setting this huge goal. I also think I was in a better place mentally at that time. Recently, questions about my self worth have been ringing in my head more and more. My anxiety is heightened once again. I honestly think the abstinent days don't really matter if i am not healing emotionally because of a lack of self love and feelings of worthlessness. The root cause is what I have to deal with, otherwise even if I manage to overcome porn addiction I might just use something else to escape.

  14. I have read the power of habit. I found it very intriguing how the brain works in what the author refers to as the habit loop. Also, has valuable info on how good habits can replace bad habits if certain emotional conditions are met in the habit loop. I need to read the book by Gary Wilson though.
