SSRI Medication & Rebooting

Hey!

So I am going to quit P forever, that is my main goal but atleast for the next few years Im also quitting MO aswell for the sake of "reboot" ofcourse. Im on SSRI medication and Im wondering how does this effect the process/progress? Is there something I should know or do differently along my journey? (Due to my mental state Im not willing to quit my medication just yet, hoping it would ease my mental pain atleast a little.)

Probably best to talk to your doctor about this, unless we have some doctors here, which is quite likely, since porn does not discriminate between professions.
Personally, and as a layman only, I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Cannot speak as a doctor but definitely can from experience as my husband has been on paroxetine, an SSRI, for a couple of years now and I think it may be a big help to you. My husband has been into PMO since his teens and we had talked about at least reducing this and he said he wanted to give up the P which always led to MO. He went on a SSRI only due to anxiety regarding work and his doctor mentioned common side effects including potentially on libido.

After about 2-3 months on medication he mentioned a couple of times that his urge to M seemed to have reduced and he hadn't done it for a few weeks, which was not like him at all. After about 6 months he said he just didn't get any urge to M at all and this has continued the same since. His doctor has said that it should be fine now to reduce and taper of the meds but my DH it thinking to stay on it as if has definitely helped his urges to M and he feels more relaxed now.

I'm on an SSRI. I'm actually on a bunch of medicines so it makes it difficult to say what's doing what, but in general SSRI's reduce the libido, making nofap easier. But what makes it a mixed blessing is that it may cause you to have flatline/PAWS to a greater extent than if you were not taking it.
