To be Honest .... I'm surprised that macOS filters aren't that strong..... I use an iPhone and its inbuilt filters are excellent. And I thought Apple's filters were excellent that you don't need additional tools .

A lot of learning over the last 3 years. A lot of failure and bypasses. So I kept discovering bypasses and then I would learn how to make that bypass not possible, and make the blocking system more and more efficient. That's how it's went for me over the last 3 years.

Hello again xXsinnerXx, I am using Force DNS, fapsecure, and sophos on macOS. I was wondering if these programs are bypassable at all and if you were at any point able to bypass them. I wouldn’t like to know how to bypass them, but I just want to know if they are solid enough. I would also like to ask if these programs are the best blocking programs for Mac?

Blocking all VPN
Do NOT DO THIS
This is for educational purposes only. Do not do it except if you REALLY need it. Again, you may need VPNs in the future and some porn blockers connect to VPN.
If you're using VPN/proxies/DNS changers to bypass filters, you could use this method to prevent your phone from connecting to VPNs whether manually or by using VPN apps.

So use this if:
1-You don't need a VPN to access important sites
2-You could use VPNs to bypass the filters

Steps:
On your phone:
1-Enable Developer mode and enable USB debugging:

3-Change the USB option to Media Device/MTP. You could that after connecting your phone to your PC by a USB cable as you usually get a notification to choose the USB option. You could also swipe down the status bar of your phone to set the USB options after you plug the phone. If you still can't find it, typing "usb" in the search bar in your settings app could help.

On your PC:

1- Download the latest version of ADB ZIP file for windows (13 MB):

2-Extract that zip file directly into your C: drive, so that you get a folder named platform-tools in your C: drive.

3-From windows start menu open cmd

4-Use the following code in cmd to change the directory to the platform-tools folder(the one on your C: drive):

I think they are solid enough. One last app you should add is ColdTurkey but you'll have to do some homework and create your own lists because I haven't made any. Pluckeye is one of the best but you can't use it, you're on Big Sur.

There are some good filtering apps that use dumb VPNs to filter porn on all browsers. If you do that step, you won't be able to use them. Also, it's irreversible. You can't re-install Vpndialogs from an apk as it's a system app. It's also not that useful, if you're using Family Link because you'll need approval before you download a bad vpn app.

Why should you be using porn blockers?

Because it’s really hard to quit porn when it’s just a click away.

There will be times when willpower will fail you. Say for example, you were very tired or had poor sleep one day.

What if you were having a bad day and you're thinking that watching porn might be a good idea?

We know very little about willpower. But we now know that the prefrontal cortex of the brain is primarily responsible for willpower.

So what damages your prefrontal cortex?

1-Not getting enough sleep.
2-Chronic stress
3-Masturbating to porn.(Most importantly)

That’s why when you relapse once, it becomes easier to relapse again and it becomes much harder to control yourself as you have temporarily damaged your prefrontal cortex. You have probably read this on YBOP, that masturbating to porn decreases the grey matter in your prefrontal cortex. Grey matter represents the cell bodies in the brain. So porn literally kills your prefrontal cortex where your willpower lives.

What happens when your prefrontal cortex is fucked up? This gets us to an important function of the prefrontal cortex: Concentration, that's why you get the worst brain fog ever when you relapse.

(Other diseases of the prefrontal cortex: Attention deficiency (ADHD) & Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder(OCD). )

When you start watching porn notice how your heart rate goes crazy! It will remain high for a few minutes but will eventually fall back to normal. I’m one of the people who believe that the heart is the center of emotion and not the brain. Maybe the brain is involved but the heart is the master of your emotions.

What does that have to do with anything?

That rush your heart gets when you watch porn, numbs your heart, it makes it insensitive to other emotions.

A family member may die, and you won’t feel shit, you will try as hard as you can to cry, but you just can’t feel anymore, your heart is dead.

Things that used to get you excited in the past, like hanging out with friends can’t get you excited now. At this point, only porn can.

But not even “average porn” can get you excited now, the old porn doesn’t make your heart go as crazy as before, you have to watch novel and weird porn to get the same effect.

We need to stay away from this drug as much as we can. If all what a porn blocker can do is to increase the number of clicks between you and watching porn, so why not give it a try? Why not give your willpower an aid?

Porn filters are there to stop you when you are thinking you can’t take it anymore, it can stop you when you’re about to do something you’ll regret.

DO NOT use porn filters as a crutch, they are just there to help you when you’re weak.

If you depend on them too much, you will always end up finding a way around and watching porn.

I highly recommend you find a friend or a family member to enter and hold your passwords.

Saving your passwords

The best method is the last.

1-You could let a friend or a family member to directly enter the passwords and it's very important to tell them to save it somewhere, for example, using the "Note" app on their phone.

2-Another option is to type a random password in notepad e.g. lsfdjaljfalsjfaljf8y7ysfy7

then copy that password and paste it in the application you want to lock like forticlient for example, then paste it again in a message to your friend, then finally delete that message on your end so only your friend could see it.

3-Use lockbox.pluckeye.net
Enter a random password in notepad: jasfjdhashf87ahfa8f78a7fhas

Then copy this shit and paste it in the application you want to lock e.g. Forticlient.

Paste the password again in lockbox.pluckeye.net

Why I think this is the best way?

because people, I mean kids, could trick their friends and tell them that they need the password urgently while they only want to watch porn. But here, you will have no choice but to wait.

Tips from pros

As some “tricky” sites allow you to access porn, and not all of them are blocked by Qustodio. But there is a great chance you don't know those sites.

Here's what you'll need:
1-Porn blockers: Qustodio + BlockSite (and Adult Block to lock them)
There are porn blockers for rooted phones but if you're a newbie you could brick your phone while rooting it. So you could skip them if your phone is unrooted.

2-A remote Applock: Those will block newly installed apps till your friend approves them from his phone. You could use Google family Link OR Safe lagoon.
Google family link can't be removed even when you factory reset your phone. Safe lagoon should be selected when you want to use your main google account on your phone (more details later).

1-Install Bulldog(Guardian Angel)

has some bugs right now, but the developers are fixing it.

It's one of the finest android porn blockers out there. Depending on your region, it may be called "Bulldog" or "Guardian Angel".

It enforces Cleanbrowsing DNS:
*Enforces safe search on Google and other search engines.
*Blocks porn sites.
*Cautious mode: Blocks reddit and twitter and mixed sites

Excellent porn blocker that filters even in-app browsers. But it's recommended that you still block browsers other that chrome.

As usual, you'll sign up using a friend's email or using a temporary mail. And for the password you'll type random letters in your "Notes" app on your phone and copy it and paste it as your account's password. Then you save BOTH the email and the password on lockbox.pluckeye.net. Kaspersky is not a joke. If you lost the email or the password, it would NEVER allow you to uninstall and if you tried to be a smart ass and attempted to mess around with your Device Admins, it will lock you out of all apps for some time.

Setting up this one is a bit tricky as it will lock your phone's settings by default. So you'll have to login to https://my.kaspersky.com/ then select "kids" then "applications" then select your phone. Scroll down till you find settings and enable it.

It also blocks many other apps by default like telegram and google play music, so check out all of the forbidden apps.

And Don't get fooled by its name. This is a very powerful system-wide porn blocker for android.

*Powerful self-protection to prevent removal.

After you do the steps in the video, if you try to remove/uninstall device admins, you'll fail.

The next 2 apps need root access. For those who don't know what is that, it's similar to the admin privileges in windows. Android phones don't come "rooted" so that users can't mess with important system files. If you want, there are many way to root your phone but the best way to root YOUR phone is to find someone who has already done it. let's say my lenovo's model number is A1000 (you could find that from settings>about phone). So I will just google "root lenovo A1000". Don't forget to read people's responses to that way to avoid bricking your phone. If you are not sure about any step while you're reading, don't risk your phone.

Please, don't apply anything except when you finish reading.

It works as a remote app lock. If you want to install a new app, it sends a notification to your accountability partner and he could approve or reject your request. This is a game changer.

It also prevents:
*Installing apk without permission
*Access to developer mode without permission (Blocks USB debugging/rooting)
*Forces safe search on google chrome (and not other browsers)
*Blocks porn on google chrome (still not perfect)
*Blocks Safe mode automatically
Let's start!

Google family link can manage accounts with birthdays set to less than 13 years ago. If you try to manage an account which is older than 13 years, you'll fail because kids older than 13 years are given the right by google family link to remove the management.

We have 2 choices:

A-Change the birthday on your google account to less than 13 years old.
*This will delete all of your youtube data including your subscriptions and playlists. You won't be able to login to youtube using your account whether on your phone or on your PC. If you don't want this to happen, I suggest you skip to plan B.

However, you can't change your birthday to a date before the date of creation of your account. So if you created your google account before 2007, you won't be able to change your google account to less than 13 years old as 2020-2007=13 years. But if you for example, created your account in 2013, you could change your birthday to 2013 and you turn to 7 years old. Note that whenever the account reaches 13 years old, you could remove google family link without permission.

You could change your birthday from the following link, but never do it unless when your friend who is going to manage your account is present as he will have to enter his Google account email and password. So don't rush.

B-Create a new google account
This is the only choice you have if you've created your google account 13 years ago or more or if you want to keep your youtube data.

For the birthday, set it to this year (2020), this month if possible. So you get 13 years of protection.

Also, don't create an account right now as your trusted friend will have to enter his Google account's email and password.

To transfer data (e.g. contacts) from your original Google account to the new account, you could use https://takeout.google.com/

You'll have to remove other Google accounts from your device other than the one which is younger than 13 years old.

Once you login with that google account on your phone, "Google Family Link for children and teens" app will get installed automatically on your device.

Your friend/accountability partner should download "Google family link for parents" app on his phone:

Warning: Google family link allows the "parent" to change the "child's" device PIN code and to even wipe the device. So you have to choose a trusted family member/friend to manage your account.

Here's what's your friend has to set-up now on the parents app:

1-Change Google play settings to allow all apps and games. If he doesn't do that, youtube app would be blocked.

He has to leave the "Require approval for" option set to "All content". So that whenever you download an app from the play store, he gets notified about it and he could approve or deny your request.

2-Allow device location, so that you could use GPS and location services.

3-Block apps that you think are unsafe and could cause you to relapse under: "Android Apps"

Note that website filtering and safe search only work for chrome browser.

Also, note that apps that you previously downloaded (added to your play store library) won't request permission before downloading again. So scroll down through your previously downloaded apps and download them then let your friend block them.

Important note: your managed account can't use youtube, you have to go to the youtube app and sign out OR go to settings>apps>youtube and clear the cache.
That's one annoying downside of family link. ( Still have to see if you could login to youtube on other browsers like firefox )

Note that "Controls for Signing in" needs to be set to "Yes, ask me every time", if you want the phone to get locked, after a factory reset has been done. A permission will be needed to set up the phone again.

-Safe Lagoon
It's an alternative to Google Family Link. It has a similar remote app lock but you can't lock apps already installed unless you pay for the premium version. You could use "Adult Block" app mentioned above to block unwanted browsers and other apps you don't want.

It also has a web filter feature similar to Google family link but you should never depend on that one because it has many loopholes.

-Blocking all VPN
Do NOT DO THIS
This is for educational purposes only. Do not do it except if you REALLY need it. Again, you may need VPNs in the future and some porn blockers connect to VPN.
If you're using VPN/proxies/DNS changers to bypass filters, you could use this method to prevent your phone from connecting to VPNs whether manually or by using VPN apps.

So use this if:
1-You don't need a VPN to access important sites
2-You could use VPNs to bypass the filters

Steps:
On your phone:
1-Enable Developer mode and enable USB debugging:

You could also swipe down the status bar of your phone to set the USB options after you plug the phone. If you still can't find it, typing "usb" in the search bar in your settings app could help.

On your PC:

1- Download the latest version of ADB ZIP file for windows (13 MB):

2-Extract that zip file directly into your C: drive, so that you get a folder named platform-tools in your C: drive.

3-From windows start menu open cmd

4-Use the following code in cmd to change the directory to the platform-tools folder(the one on your C: drive):

Tbh, I'm very technically minded, and If I wanted to find a way round it I easily could, but the idea is only working in concert with will power.

I have tried it. you have to pay to prevent it from being uninstalled. There are other filters provide that better blocking and have this feature for 0$.
